Rovio Entertainment Debuts New Angry Birds YouTube Series to Celebrate the World Cup

Rovio_AngryBirds_BirldCupRovio Entertainment will launch Angry Birds: BirLd Cup, a live-action hybrid series on the Angry Birds YouTube channel to celebrate the FIFA World Cup. The YouTube-exclusive series premiered on June 9, with new episodes airing every Wednesday and Saturday for the following five weeks through July 13. The episodes will also be featured on the YouTube Kids app beginning June 14.

Angry Birds: BirLd Cup stars two teams of kids, Team Red and Team Chuck, participating in a series of 10 challenges over 10 episodes. The team with the most points at the end of the season will be crowned the winner and awarded the BirLd Cup trophy. Read the rest of this entry »

WildBrain to Launch First Co-Produced Series on YouTube

WildBrain_HydroAndFluidWildBrain signed an agreement with Brazil-based animation studio, Alopra, to co-produce season two of the YouTube comedy series Hydro and Fluid. The agreement marks the first co-production from WildBrain, and the studio will acquire a 50 percent stake in the first two seasons of Hydro and Fluid.

Since signing on to manage season one on YouTube in January , WildBrain has leveraged its branded hub channels and the official Hydro and Fluid channel to amass more than 50 million views and more than 200 million minutes of watch time for the series’ content. Read the rest of this entry »

SYBO Games Premieres Subway Surfers Short-Form Series

subway_surfersSYBO Games launched a short-form animated series inspired by its  Subway Surfers mobile game. The series is scripted by Brent Friedman and Francesca Marie Smith, and is produced by Sander Schwartz. It is available now on SYBO’s YouTube channel.

In the series, viewers meet four best friends as they navigate teenage life. Together, these friends explore their magical city on skateboards and discover an amazing mystery that will introduce new technology.

A long-form series is in development, currently slated for a late 2019 launch.

RedwoodVentures Appoints WildBrain For Smooshy Mushy Content Creation

RedwoodVentures_SmooshyMushyRedwoodVentures LLC, in partnership with OLO Industries LLC, appointed WildBrain to produce a short-form series featuring Smooshy Mushy toys.

The digital kids’ network & studio on YouTube will produce short-form content based on the Smooshy Mushy brand. WildBrain will also distribute the series on YouTube, handling channel management and audience development.

Seven20 to Launch Gummibär Plush in the U.S. and Canada

GummibarAndFriendsGummibär expands its licensing program with a new line of plush today from Seven20. The range will include traditional and animated plush, and a mask that speaks and sings. YouTube series Gummibär and Friends characters Kala the Cat and Harry the Chameleon will be introduced at a later date. This agreement is part of a growing license range for Gummibär, which includes mobile apps, impulse merchandise, and men’s, women’s, and children’s apparel.

Basic Fun! Launches Poopeez YouTube Channel

BasicFun!_PoopeezBasic Fun! launched its new web series Poopeez, which takes viewers into Kerplopolis, a toilet-themed city that features characters, including T.P., Skid Mark, The Toot Fairy, Dumpling, and Lil’ Squirt.

Basic Fun’s collectible toy line based on the web series will launch in January, and a licensing program for lifestyle and consumer products will follow the launch.

Pocket.watch, Butch Hartman Partner for New Animated TV Series

Puppy, and Bunsen Is a Beast—to create and produce three new animated series. HobbyKids Adventures is the first series fast-tracked by pocket.watch, and will feature the animated exploits of three brothers from the YouTube channel HobbyKidsTV. SmightiesHerotainment LLC and Toonz Media Group launched the new animated series Smighties this month as a global feature on YouTube and YouTube Kids. The first three episodes premiered on July 6 and can be found on the Smighties YouTube Channel.

Genius Brands, Southwest Airlines Partner for Kids’ Entertainment Series on Flights Nationwide
