Striker Entertainment Appoints Nimbus Nine to Expand Licensing Initiatives

StrikerEnt_Logo_Nimbus Nine will act as Striker Entertainment’s on-the-ground presence in the UK and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) to help expand the roll-out of key licensing initiatives, including Fingerlings from WowWee. Nimbus Nine was founded in April by Tina-Louise Foster, formerly the senior director of international licensing EMEA at MGA.

The news also follows the recent announcement that Nimbus Nine partnered with Vickie O’Malley at Rockpool Licensing to manage the Super Wings and Jim Henson properties.

WowWee, Penguin Random House Partner for Fingerlings Book Collection

WowWee.Fingerlings3WowWee partnered with two children’s divisions of Penguin Random House for a global publishing program for Fingerlings. Penguin Young Readers and DK will create a library of narrative and non-fiction titles based on the children’s toy property.

The publishing series will be a mixture of formats, including handbooks and guides, activity books, sticker books, journals, picture books, and Mad Libs. The first three titles will debut this August, followed by an original story picture book.

The deal was brokered by Striker Entertainment, the worldwide licensing agency for Fingerlings.

Fingerlings Entertainment to Launch on May 11

TheFingerlingsShowThe Fingerlings property expands with YouTube entertainment content based on the toys from WowWee. The channel will launch with three distinct programs on May 11.

Fingerlings Tales follows the adventures of Bella, Boris, Gigi, Marge, and friends as they navigate the waters of friendship and family in their hometown of Melody Village. TCG, WowWee Partner for Fingerlings Puzzles and Board Games

fingerlingsTCG partnered with WowWee to launch a collection of Fingerlings puzzles and board games, which will be available at retail locations nationwide this fall.

TCG’s new Fingerlings collection is designed for kids ages 5 and up, and will include games that promote developmental skills, such as color and pattern matching, sequencing, taking turns, and more.

WowWee Retains Striker Entertainment as Worldwide Licensing Agency for Fingerlings

WowWee.Fingerlings3WowWee retained Striker Entertainment to serve as the worldwide licensing agency for the Fingerlings toy line. The toys cling to kids’ fingers and react to sound, motion, and touch with more than 40 animations.

Striker will work with WowWee to develop a worldwide licensing strategy to expand the growing consumer interest and retail demand for additional consumer products categories.

WowWee Group Aquires Once Upon A Zombie License

The Toon Studio of Beverly Hills has completed a licensing deal with WowWee Group Ltd. to bring the Once Upon A Zombie property, featuring Snow White, Cinderella, Little Mermaid, and Sleeping Beauty, among other characters, to the world of traditional and digitally interactive dolls with mobile applications.

Once Upon A Zombie tells the story of how these classical princesses took a turn in time and became zombies living forever.

WowWee, best known for Robosapien in 2004 and Paper Jamz two years ago, is a manufacturer of imaginative toys featuring a touch of technology.

The Toon Studio will soon launch a Once Upon A Zombie children’s book, and is licensing the property to consumer product companies worldwide.

WowWee plans to incorporate technologies similar to its AppGear product line into next year’s product launch of Once Upon A Zombie. WowWee’s AppGear will be available in a number of channels and retailers, from AT&T and Verizon to Target, Toys “R” Us, Walmart, and Walgreens.

Ark Music Factory’s New Star, Lexi St. George, Signs Deal

Ark Music Factory has announced that its newest star, Lexi St. George, will appear in TV ads for WowWee’s Paper Jamz Pro Jam Series Microphone. The ads will feature St. George and her debut single and video “Dancing to the Rhythm.”

The Paper Jamz Pro Series Microphone helps kids sing like a pro by allowing them to transfer their favorite songs onto the microphone, and letting them adjust to their “perfect pitch” with chorus, harmony, vibrato and other vocal controls. The microphone is $29.99 and available at Wal-Mart, with distribution in Target, Toys “R” Us, and KMart later this month.

New KISS Models Bring Destroyer Album Cover to Life

Round 2 is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the KISS album Destroyer by creating model kits based on the album’s cover art. The kits are pre-painted in minute detail, from the iconic black-and-white makeup to the traditional hairstyles and monstrously tall platform boots. Fully assembled on the base, each figure—Starchild, Demon, Spaceman, and Catman—stands nearly a foot tall.

Each kit is packaged with one of four mini posters, which, when assembled together, form a 2.5-by-2.5 foot poster of the Destroyer album art.

CBS Reveals Exclusive Merchandise at Comic-Con

CBS Consumer Products announced that it will debut new products for Star Trek, CSI, NCIS, Dexter, Charmed, Cheers, and The Twilight Zone, at San Diego Comic-Con, beginning July 21.

Star Trek is annually one of Comic-Con’s biggest draws, and will have 11 licensees on hand exhibiting products, including Diamond Comics (Booth #2607), which will show Star Trek Mr. Potato Heads from PPW featuring characters from The Original Series. At the CBS booth (#4129), will offer free limited-edition Enterprise Bottle Opener Keychains and wristbands to fans.

New Willy Wonka Contest for 40th Anniversary DVD Release

Warner Home Video will release a special 40th anniversary edition of Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, complete with a Wonka Bar and Golden Ticket Instant Win Piece for a chance to enter and win a trip for two to Los Angeles.

The three-disc Ultimate Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray/DVD combo will cost $64.99, while a single-DVD version will retail for $12.97. The film will be available On Demand and through online retailers including Amazon on Demand and iTunes.

The releases will come in October, no matter how much Veruca wants them now.
