In anticipation to next year’s anniversary, The World of Eric Carle’s UK licensing agent Rocket Licensing will increase The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s in-store presence this year, including a range of dress-up outfits by Amscan for World Book Day. Additionally, The Very Hungry Caterpillar live show continues to attract audiences throughout the UK, and The Giant Wiggle annual fundraising event hosted by the UK children’s charity Action for Children continues to grow every year.

The Joester Loria Group Signs New Licensees for the World of Eric Carle

The Joester Loria Group has brokered three new deals for The World of Eric Carle, to expand on their current program with personalized products from Zazzle, Percy 3D, and Custom Personalization Solutions LLC (CPS).

CPS launched print on demand personalized products, including backpacks, blankies, T-shirts, and toys. The collection is featured on http://www.tvstoybox.com/very-hungry-caterpillar.

Personalized digital party invitations and thank you cards from Percy 3D will be available through www.percyvites.com, starting this fall.

Zazzle will create a range of stationary and back to school, home and room décor, and infant collections which featured in a World of Eric Carle storefront and landing page.

All three partners will utilize The Very Hungry Caterpillar along with other characters from Carle’s books to create collections that capture the playful theme and distinct collage art of the artist.

Voting Begins for LIMA International Licensing Excellence Awards

The International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) has finalized the ballot for the 2015 International Licensing Awards. One hundred forty-two nominees from 14 countries, representing excellence in a wide array of categories encompassing licensing, retailing, promotion, and consumer products, will square off this year to win the industry’s most coveted distinction. LIMA members may cast their votes online through May 12. Winners will be announced at the LIMA Awards Ceremony on June 9, during Licensing Expo in Las Vegas.

Category updates for the 2015 ballot include separating film, TV, and entertainment into animation and live action; art and design restructured to lifestyle: art, design, or fashion; digital/new media updated to digital; and celebrity newly identified as celebrity or music. The Joester Loria Group has appointed Team! Licensing to build on the German success of the The World of Eric Carle with a focus on The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Team! Licensing will further develop the brand based on Carle’s best-selling children’s picture books. Already, a number of key product categories have been licensed from Schmidt Spiele, Geda Labels, Klaus Herding GmbH, and Gerstenberg. Team! Produce for Kids, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Partner for Fall Campaign

Produce for Kids has partnered with The Very Hungry Caterpillar for its third annual Healthy Families, Healthy Kids campaign this fall. The campaign will run in all Meijer stores and Publix Super Markets this September and October, and will raise funds to support local children’s charities.

Produce for Kids will promote the campaign through all platforms of social media, and will host various sweepstakes and giveaways on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Produce for Kids will also engage mom bloggers in each participating retail partner’s markets to help spread the healthy eating message. In addition, Produce for Kids will be hosting monthly Twitter parties during the campaign focused on seasonal healthy eating topics. The Very Hungry Caterpillar will also host in-store meet and greets with families at select participating grocery stores.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Celebrates 45th Anniversary at Barnes & Noble, Launches New App

The Joester Loria Group partnered with Barnes & Noble to celebrate The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s 45th Anniversary with hands-on learning events across the country from April 25 to May 4th. The educational program was tailored to kids ages 3 to 6 and showcased The Very Hungry Caterpillar Color-In Crown, from Mudpuppy, which features Eric Carle’s illustrations and the characters from his books. The event encouraged kids to develop their creativity and social skills through sharing and storytelling.

Kids had the chance to learn, color, share, and take home their custom-created crowns after enjoying treats from the Barnes & Noble Café.

Publications International Ltd. (PIL) and The World of Eric Carle launched a new Eric Carle’s On the Farm app, featuring animal sounds, rhymes, songs, and surprises. The app is available in the Apple App Store for iDevices.

Hands-On Learning Event at Barnes & Noble in Celebration of 45th Anniversary of The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The Joester Loria Group has partnered with Barnes & Noble for Hands-On Learning events across the country in celebration of the 45th anniversary of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The events are tailored to children ages 3 to 6 to encourage them to develop their creativity and social skills through sharing and storytelling.

During the Hands-On Learning event, children will learn, color, share, and take home their custom-created crowns. They will also learn about the free B&N Kids’ Club.

The events will kick off on April 25 and run through May 4th. The events are free and open to the public.
