The Fred Rogers Co. Rebrands to Fred Rogers Productions

fred rogers productionsThe Fred Rogers Co.,  founded by children’s TV pioneer Fred Rogers nearly five decades ago, rebranded to Fred Rogers Productions. The change will better reflect the company’s expanding catalog of programs, which encompasses multiplatform PBS KIDS series, such as Daniel Tiger’s NeighborhoodPeg + Cat, and Odd Squad, as well as popular apps and games.

The company refreshed its logo to feature Daniel Tiger to connect the company with its signature property. The rebrand was done in partnership with The Possibility Shop and SJI Associates.

9 Story Media Group Expands Global Licensing Program for Peg + Cat

Peg+Cat9 Story Media Group will expand its international licensing program based on the animated preschool series Peg + Cat. New licensees for Spain and Portugal were appointed, including Editorial Planeta for publishing, Ravensburger for puzzles and games, C y P Brands Evolution for back-to-school, Artesania Cerdà for apparel and back-to-school, and Comansi for figurines. Additional licensees will be announced soon. PEG + CAT airs on TVE in Spain and on RTP in Portugal.

WildKratts9 Story Media Group has secured deals for its kids and family content across Asia, as it builds momentum and expands its presence within the territory. Content has been sold to broadcasters in Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Korea for shows, including Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Peg + Cat, Wild Kratts, Monkey See Monkey Do, Finding Stuff Out, and Get Ace.

Thailand’s TV3 has acquired the first seasons of preschool series Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood (80 11-minute episodes), Peg + Cat (80 11-minute episodes), and Monkey See Monkey Do (26 seven-minute episodes). The broadcaster has also acquired all three seasons of the live-action science series Finding Stuff Out (42 22-minute episodes).

9 Story Media Group Expands Peg + Cat Licensing Program

PEG + CAT19 Story Media Group has appointed Super RTL in Germany to represent the preschool property Peg + Cat’s merchandising program in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Super RTL has signed a home entertainment deal with Sony Music Entertainment Germany, which will launch a Peg + Cat DVD this fall, and the company is planning a range of hard and soft lines for the brand.

HiHat Media was appointed the property’s U.S. agent, while 9 Story Media Group manages the brand’s international licensing. Candlewick Press has signed on for a book series Peg + Cat, The Race Car Problem to launch in the U.S. this fall and PBS Distribution will create a new range of DVDs.

Peg + Cat follows the adventures of Peg and her sidekick Cat as they solve problems in a un, creative way. The series is co-produced by The Fred Rogers Company and 9 Story Media Group.

Fred Rogers Co. Set to Produce Second Season of Peg + Cat

Mar4.PegnCatThe Fred Rogers Co. has announced  production of a second season of the animated preschool series Peg + Cat. The new season is slated to launch on PBS Kids in spring 2016. Season two of the show will feature 25 new episodes, including a one-hour special highlighting the musical math adventures of Peg and her loyal sidekick, Cat. In addition, Peg + Cat will introduce new interactive games and digital storybooks on PBS Kids digital platforms.

Each episode shows Peg, Cat, and her friends working together to overcome a challenge using their math and problem-solving abilities. It features an original song each episode and a fresh way to experience key math skills.

HiHat Media is handling the licensing for the show and is working to secure a master toy licensee.

The Fred Rogers Co. has appointed HiHat Media to lead the U.S. branding licensing initiatives for its multi-Emmy award-winning PBS Kids series, Peg + Cat. HiHat Media will develop a broad consumer products campaign based on the highly rated math-based series for children and their families.

HiHat plans to kick off the Peg + Cat consumer products program with a master toy licensee, as well as partners in the apparel, bedding, stationery, gift categories, and more. Additional Peg + Cat licensees will be announced soon.

Peg + Cat follows Peg and her loyal sidekick, Cat as they embark on musical adventures, learning foundational math concepts along the way. Each episode features stories in which Peg and Cat encounter a problem that requires them to use math and problem solving skills to move the story forward.
