Hasbro, Quidd Partner to Create Digital Stickers

Hasbro_4c_noRHasbro Inc. partnered with Quidd Inc. to distribute and sell digital stickers, trading cards, and digital toys through the Quidd app.

Quidd will create, distribute, and sell limited-edition digital stickers, trading cards, and toys from 40 of Hasbro’s brands, including Dungeons & DragonsGI Joe, Nerf, Optimus Prime, Rainbow Dash, and Demogorgon.

The Transformers, My Little Pony, Magic: The Gathering, and Monopoly first edition releases are now available via the Quidd app.

Hasbro, United Colors of Benetton Partner for Fashion Line

Hasbro_4c_noRHasbro will launch a multi-year deal with global fashion retailer Benetton Group to bring apparel and accessories featuring Hasbro brands to consumers worldwide. The first items will launch later this year in United Colors of Benetton’s fall and winter line. this year

The collections include My Little Pony and Transformers styles for infants and kids. Fashions inspired by other Hasbro brands will launch in Benetton’s spring and summer offerings for next year and following years.

The Hasbro collection will be available for purchase online and in stores.

Hasbro Partners with Laura Schuffman for My Little Pony: Equestria Girl Fashion Dolls Relaunch

Tinkertoy Introduces My Little Pony Building Sets

MyLittlePonyRarityK’NEX Brands introduces Tinkertoy building sets inspired by the animated series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, currently seen in 180 countries around the world.

The new products combine the Tinkertoy building system with the main characters from My Little Pony, both under license to K’NEX from Hasbro. The building sets launch this fall.

Rubies_HasbroRubie’s Pet Shop Boutique partnered with Hasbro Inc. to launch pet costumes inspired by Transformers and My Little Pony.  Both brands will debut movies later this year.

The Transformers line includes Optimus Prime and Bumble Bee, both which come with a shirt and headpiece. The My Little Pony collection features Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle, both which are available in three styles: hood, tutu, and harness and leash. My Little Pony Pop-Up Spa Heads to New York

MyLittlePonyFrom Feb. 9 to Feb. 17, Milk & Cookies Kids Spa and Salon in New York City will offer a My Little Pony Pamper-Me Pop-up Spa that lets kids play with new My Little Pony fashion-themed products and enjoy My Little Pony-inspired spa treatments.

Guests can choose from different services, including: My Little Pony, a mother-daughter spa treatment that includes, a manicure, a pedicure, and a “Frosting Facial;” Rarity, a manicure package that includes a cotton candy-scented scrub with sprinkles and strawberry creme soufflé; Pinkie Pie makeup package; Twilight Sparkle glitter tattoos; Rainbow Dash, a pony-inspired hairstyle with non-toxic highlights and glitter sparkles; Fluttershy, a curled Side ponytail hairstyle; and Applejack, clip-in hair extensions tied in a braid.

DHX Brands Boosts UK Team With Four Key Hires

DHX Brands has appointed four new team members in its London office. Debbie Walker was appointed as brand manager, Cheryl Brock joins in as design manager in the creative services team, Alessia Foster takes the position of head of product development, with Holly Taylor joining her as product development manager.

Walker will lead brand and marketing initiatives in the UK for preschool properties Twirlywoos and In the Night Garden. Having worked in roles across Mattel, FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment and Trinity Films, Walker has experience in kids’ and family brand marketing, public relations, and creative communications.

Brock will help maintain a growing DHX Brands portfolio and launch new titles. Her background spans licensing design for both product and graphics across a range of properties. Previously, she worked for brands, such as Thomas and Friends, The Simpsons, Hello Kitty, and My Little Pony

Establishing a dedicated DHX Brands product development team, Foster brings in international experience of leading the development of products through licensing, live events, and attractions programs. Taylor joins the team with a focus on apparel and soft lines development. Most recently, she worked for Disney on their apparel development for major retailers in the UK.

Voting Begins for LIMA International Licensing Excellence Awards

The International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) has finalized the ballot for the 2015 International Licensing Awards. One hundred forty-two nominees from 14 countries, representing excellence in a wide array of categories encompassing licensing, retailing, promotion, and consumer products, will square off this year to win the industry’s most coveted distinction. LIMA members may cast their votes online through May 12. Winners will be announced at the LIMA Awards Ceremony on June 9, during Licensing Expo in Las Vegas.

Category updates for the 2015 ballot include separating film, TV, and entertainment into animation and live action; art and design restructured to lifestyle: art, design, or fashion; digital/new media updated to digital; and celebrity newly identified as celebrity or music.
