Scholastic Debuts New Anniversary Edition Covers for Harry Potter

HarryPotterSocStone_AnniScholastic released new covers for J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series as part of its year-long campaign to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the U.S. publication of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Illustrated by Brian Selznick, the new paperback editions will be published on June 26 in the U.S.

Rendered in Selznick’s signature black-and-white style with jewel-toned type, the seven covers depict thrilling moments and characters from across the series. Scholastic to Publish Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Screenplay

LEGO Dimensions Adds New Expansion Packs

legodimensions_fantasticbeastsWarner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced the release of six highly anticipated expansion packs for LEGO Dimensions, led by the Sonic The Hedgehog Level Pack and the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Story Pack.

All expansion packs in this latest wave feature Battle Arenas with split-screen local gameplay for up to four players. LEGO minifigures included in the expansion packs come with golden Toy Tags which unlock a free play Adventure World of the corresponding entertainment brand, as well as a battle arena that can be reached through Vorton.

Scholastic Announces Sale of More Than 2 Million Copies of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child Parts One and Two

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two script book, the eighth Harry Potter story by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne, published in the U.S. and Canada by Scholastic, hit bookstores nationwide on July 31, and sold more than 2 million copies in North America within the first two sale days.

Scholastic announced a first printing of 4.5 million copies of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two script book, and retailers reported fast-paced pre-sales leading up to the release date.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two, a play by Jack Thorne based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany, premiered at The Palace Theatre in London’s West End on July 30.

At 12:01 a.m. ET on July 31, Scholastic released the script book in print in the U.S. and Canada. This Special Rehearsal Edition contains the complete script, including stage directions, used by the original West End production during the play’s preview period.

Sale of 250,000 tickets was announced for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play, starting August 4, for which further information is available on : www.HarryPotterthePlay.com.

Hogwarts is Coming to Universal Studios on April 7

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will open at Universal Studios Hollywood on April 7, marking the highly anticipated arrival of the west coast’s dynamic immersive experience at the entertainment capital L.A.

More than five years in the making, and inspired by J.K. Rowling’s stories and Warner Bros. films, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is being masterfully recreated with impeccable detail complete with Three Broomsticks, Hog’s Head pub, Butterbeer carts, and the iconic Hogwarts castle.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey will make its U.S. debut at Universal Studios Hollywood in hyper-realistic 3D-HD design to immerse guests in a life-like Quidditch-match. Flight of the Hippogriff, a family coaster will also open at the studios as Hollywood’s first outdoor roller coaster.
