Sony Introduces Licensees for Men in Black

SonySony Pictures Consumer Products (SPCP) will develop a comprehensive, 360-degree program for the Men in Black franchiseThe new program will include the classic franchise and the studio’s new spin-off which is tentatively set to release next summer.

SPCP’s first wave of licensees include Funko, Titan Publishing, Bioworld, and Changes. SPCP aims to recreate another strong franchise program in support of Men in Black with year-round opportunities for a multi-generational audience. This follows the studio’s recent success with the classic Jumanji franchise and the recent film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

Solo: A Star Wars Story Product Lands at Retail

The cross-category assortment features action figures, role-play products, apparel, with comic and book titles launching next month.

King Features Announces Licensees for Range Based on Cuphead Video Game

Funko will feature a full range of Cuphead collectibles, including vinyl toys, plush, apparel, and digital products. The initial launch will feature the collectible vinyl toys and will be revealed in an exclusive New York Comic Con Exclusive 2-Pack release this month. Bungie to Expand Destiny 2 Merchandising Program

Destiny2Bungie, in collaboration with Activision, will add to the Destiny 2 brand with new licensing partners for its merchandising program.

Bungie partnered with Funko to bring Destiny’s characters to life in Pop! Vinyl form. This August, characters from the Destiny 2 universe will be available, including Cayde-6, Ikora Rey, and Commander Zavala, with other supporting characters at select retailers. Read the rest of this entry »

Funko Named Master Toy Licensee for Adult Swim Series Rick and Morty

FunkoCartoon Network Enterprises names Funko master toy partner for Adult Swim brand Rick and Morty. The new range of products will be available at select mass retailers nationwide.

The first products to be introduced in the collection include Galactic Plushies, Mystery Minis, and Pocket Pop! keychains. Funko will also expand its Rick and Morty vinyl figure collection with the addition of seven new, highly detailed figures. The company will also debut the first fully-posable, articulated action figure line for Rick and Morty.  Each character within the assortment includes a unique bonus piece.  Additional products, including role-play toys, novelty housewares and home décor, apparel, and accessories, will also rollout later this year. Marvel Super Hero Spectacular Returns For the Third Time With New Merchandise and Retail Partners

Marvel Superhero SpectacularDisney Consumer Products and Interactive Media (DCPI) kicked off its third annual ‘Marvel Super Hero Spectacular’ campaign on August 15. The campaign will feature six weeks of product launches, retail promotions, and activities, including a merchandising program celebrating Captain America’s 75th anniversary and the launch of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War on DVD and Blu-ray. Major retailers at the event will include Walmart, Target, Toys “R” Us, Amazon, Kohl’s, Party City, and Kmart. The event will roll out worldwide and also reach mid-tier retail and specialty stores.
