eOne to Open Peppa Pig World of Play Indoor Attractions

PPWOP_logo_COL_Eng_TMEntertainment One (eOne) and Merlin Entertainments (Merlin) will launch the first Peppa Pig World of Play attraction. The standalone, indoor attraction will bring eOne’s preschool TV property to life through a series of interactive play areas. The first locations announced are Shanghai’s LC Mall, set to open its doors late this year, and the Grapevine Mills in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, expected to open early next year.

Additional Peppa Pig World of Play sites have been secured in Beijing in China, as well as Michigan and the New York area in the U.S., which are also planned to open next year. Read the rest of this entry »

LIMA Appoints New Members to Board of Directors

LIMALast week, the Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) announced the new members of its board of directors. Cindy Levitt, senior vice president of licensing at Hot Topic, BoxLunch, and Her Universe, was elected chairman of the board. Levitt succeeds Ciarán Coyle of Electrolux Global Marketing, who completed a two-year term. Jay Asher, partner at Brandgenuity, was elected as vice chairman, and JJ Ahearn, managing director of Licensing Street LLC, was voted board designate to the executive committee, both for one-year terms.

Additionally, the LIMA membership elected six new members to begin terms on the LIMA board, effective July 1. New members Liza Abrams of Sakar International; Naz Amarchi-Cuevas of SYBO Games; Sam Ferguson of Jazwares; Bill Patterson of OpSec Security Inc.; Jason Sutton of Polaroid; and Takanori Ueno of Laura Ashely Japan Co. eOne Partners with New Licensees for PJ Masks

New partners include ASO LLC for antibacterial shape and strip bandages; Colgate-Palmolive for oral care, including battery-operated toothbrushes, manual toothbrushes, and toothpaste; DecoPac for edible photo cake and cookie decorations in the U.S. and Canada; Give & Go for baked goods featuring house-assembly and cookie-decorating kits; good2grow for 100-percent juice beverages in containers with character toppers; Pez Candy for character candy dispensers with candy; and Thermos for stainless steel vacuum insulated “FUNtainer” bottles and food jars.

eOne Adds New Partners for the Peppa Pig Brand

PeppaPig_Carton_092217Entertainment One (eOne)’s Peppa Pig currently has more than 1,000 licensees worldwide, and more than 80 licensees in the U.S. alone. The brand will continue its growth in the U.S. with a range of new licensing partners.

New licensees to launch products this year include Colgate-Palmolive for battery-operated and manual toothbrushes and toothpaste; Ginsey Home Solutions for made in the U.S. potty training products; Give & Go for house-building and cookie-decorating kits; good2grow for juice beverages in containers with character toppers; Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. for Band-Aid brand adhesive bandages.

A new season of Peppa Pig is currently in production, with 117 new episodes on the way, for a total of 381 episodes and new content through the winter of 2022.

eOne Launches Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom in China

eOne_Ben&HollysLittleKingdomEntertainment One (eOne) partnered with iQIYI to bring its preschool property Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom to China on the video-on-demand (VOD) platform and at retail this year.

The first season of Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom will be accessible on iQIYI next month. iQIYI will also manage licensing rights for the property in the region, spearheaded by a publishing launch this summer and fall and a hard launch spanning multiple categories later this year. eOne to Launch Peppa Pig Consumer Products Program in Japan

PeppaPig_JapanLaunchFollowing the broadcast launch of Entertainment One’s (eOne) Peppa Pig in Japan last fall, the property’s merchandise will launch in the region with an exclusive retail event.

Sega Toys, the master licensee in Japan, will launch the new products at an exclusive “Peppa Pig Goes to London” pop-up store this spring. Inspired by the storybook Peppa Pig Goes to London, the pop-up store will run from March 28 to April 3 at Takashimaya Shinjuku department store in Tokyo. eOne Names Alpha Group Master Toy Partner for Peppa Pig in China, Expands Hong Kong Office

PeppaPigEntertainment One (eOne) appointed Alpha Group as its master toy partner for Peppa Pig in China. New toys will launch this year and feature play sets, figurines, and role-play items.

eOne’s Peppa Pig licensing program in China currently has more than 45 partners and will continue to expand this year. Additionally, this September Merlin Entertainments will debut the first Peppa Pig attraction in Shanghai. A new deal was also signed with Happy Kids Cultural Development for a Peppa Pig stage show that will tour the country over the next three years. Pop-up and mall events are currently in discussion. PJ Masks Theme Park Area to Open at Leolandia in Italy

PJMasksThe first themed attraction inspired by Entertainment One (eOne)’s preschool TV series PJ Masks will open at Leolandia in Italy next year. The animated series airs daily in Italy on Disney Junior and RAI Yoyo.

Development is now underway for a PJ Masks area at the theme park, which will include the PJ Masks headquarters.

eOne_PJ_PeppaEntertainment One (eOne) is heading into The North American International Toy Fair with new licensees in the U.S. and Canada for its preschool properties Peppa Pig and PJ Masks.

A range of new products for Peppa Pig from new partners include Crayola, Jakks Pacific, Kid Casters, and Vtech/LeapFrog, in addition to offerings from Cra-Z-Art under its newly-renewed agreement.
