Sony Pictures Signs More Than 100 Partners for Rovio’s Angry Birds Movie Promotional Campaign

With Rovio Animation‘s The Angry Birds Movie set to launch in May, Sony Pictures teamed with more than 100 partners worldwide, delivering $250 million in promotional media.

McDonald’s will launch a Happy Meal program in 120 markets worldwide promoting the film. Ziploc will create limited edition sandwich and snack bags and give customers $5 off movie tickets on purchasing two specially marked packages of Ziploc products. Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt will feature five collectible spoons for Red, Bomb, Chuck, Matilda, and two new cups.

Imagine Advertising will create The Best of the Nest event, where customers will go to their local furniture stores to take advantage of special offers. The Happy Egg Co. will highlight how all birds are not as happy as their hens through social media activation.

International partners promoting the film include French car manufacturer Citroën, Jack Links, Panasonic batteries and torches, Novotel hotel, and AccorHotels. Other partners include Home Depot, Danone, Nestle, Trolli, Pepsico, Ferrero Kinder, HSBC, Dr. Oetker, Telefonica, and Yoplait.
