Sony Legacy, Doubleday & Cartwright Partner for Miles Davis Launch

Sony_Doubleday&Cartwright_MilesDavisLegacy RecordsSony Music’s archive subsidiary—partnered with Doubleday & Cartwright for its lifestyle brand Only NY. The partnership focused on an apparel collection inspired by the jazz artist Miles Davis.

In collaboration with Only NY, Doubleday & Cartwright designed original artwork for the collection. A limited run of 100 pieces per item were produced, including hats, totes, T-shirts, and hoodies, with the collection selling out of Only NY stores and online within one week.

The new collection was promoted by a partnership with Shazam to create custom “hang tags” for each garment. When “Shazamed,” tags lead purchasers to custom music playlists inspired by Miles Davis and created by celebrities, including Don Cheadle, Terrace Martin, DJ Dahi, H.E.R., and more. Additionally, a launch event at the Only NY store featured live versions of Davis’ most popular work performed by contemporary jazz artist Keyon Harrold and friends

Las week, Sony announced the release of a new Miles Davis x John Coltrane album, The Final Tour: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 6, in March. The album is currently available for pre-order.

Following the success of the partnership, Doubleday & Cartwright announced a partnership with RCA for the French artist and illustrator Jean Jullien.
