Licensing Works! Celebrates The Little Prince 75th Anniversary With New Products

LeSport_TheLittlePrinceLicensing Works! celebrates the 75th anniversary of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince with a new collection of products. The range features graphic bag accessories, environmentally-friendly baby products, and more. North American master publishing partner Houghton Mifflin Harcourt will offer the new 75th anniversary edition of the novel, including a collector’s cover and history of the story.

This spring, LeSportsac will introduce a collection of backpacks and baby, cosmetic, and crossbody bags at and retailers worldwide. The line is supported with window merchandising, influencer seeding, and digital efforts. The Little Prince will also be featured on a range of infant and toddler products, including Riley Blake for infant apparel and sleepwear, and Finn and Emma for gifts.

New gift and novelty partners include Running Press for kits and tablet cases; Socksmith for men’s and women’s socks; Rizzoli’s Universe imprint for a 2019 calendar; Culturenik for bookmarks and prints; Cernunnos (distributed by Random House) for an encyclopedia; and Trousselier for music boxes and gifts.

To honor the book’s origin in New York City, the collection also includes products made in the U.S., such as Vinca for earrings and necklaces; Storiarts for infant caps and baby blankets; Litographs for T-shirts, scarves and posters; Dezign Your Mind inspirational shower clings; G. Arts Design for laser-cut wood décor; Walls 360 for wall graphics.

The Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation was established in 2009 and provides access to art and education for visually-impaired children. A percentage of proceeds from the sale of licensed merchandise goes to the charity. Additionally, a social media promotion running from April 2 to 15 encourages fans to post a quote from the book or an image inspired by the story with #TheLittlePrince75. For each post, the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation will make a donation to a new scholarship to help blind American students pursue their academic goals and achieve their dreams.

The Morgan Library & Museum in New York will host an exhibition of newly discovered drawings by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. A screening of The Little Prince animated movie will also take place this summer, hosted by the film’s director, Mark Osborne. This year, Sofitel Hotels will provide guests with offers themed to The Little Prince through the chain’s Magnifique Family program.
