The collection infuses Chu’s signature style of neutrals and she will also be unveiling a Bali collection inspired by her travels to Indonesia.

The collection includes decorative accessories, vases, lamps, lanterns, mirrors, trays, accent tables, doormats, and vases. Chu’s licensing program includes a collection of rugs, decorative pillows, throws, basic bedding, and interior paint available at retailers including Bed, Bath and Beyond, Hayneedle, Wayfair, Amazon, Rug Studio, Houzz, Overstock, Kohl’s, and Lowe’s. Cho is introducing a luggage collection and fashion bedding to be announced later this year.

LEGO, Volvo Partner for Autonomous Concept Wheel Loader

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) and LEGO Technic construction partnered with a team of kids to design a futuristic, autonomous construction machine. The LEGO Technic Volvo Concept Wheel Loader Zeux set is the digital prototype for a real autonomous machine, and is scheduled for release in toy stores in August.

With the first self-driving cars already tested on roads, designers at Volvo CE in Sweden and the LEGO Group in Denmark worked to find new ways to increase safety and bring a more human aspect to the artificial intelligence (AI) in big construction machines.

Rovio will launch an extensive program of new licensing partnerships in North America for the flagship Angry Birds franchise. Rovio will also maintain its previous long-term partnership with TCC for global retail loyalty campaigns.

Rovio is partnering with global confectioner Perfetti Van Melle, owner of Chupa Chups. Commencing in 2019, this long-term partnership will develop an extensive range of Angry Birds-branded Chupa Chups products with 6 million units set to be distributed across global markets. Rovio will unveil further key partnership announcements over the coming weeks.

King Features Syndicate, A Bathing Ape Partner for Popeye Collection

King Features Syndicate, a division of Hearst, partnered with Japanese streetwear brand A Bathing Ape (Bape) for a Popeye collection. Launching this month, the collection features Popeye and Olive Oyl on graphics that are integrated with Bape’s signature Ape Head and College Logo motifs.

Bape’s specially designed graphics with Popeye appear in a wide line of apparel and accessories for adults and kids, including T-shirts, hooded sweatshirts, button-down shirts, tote bags, caps, and keychains. The new collection will be promoted across the brand’s social media and digital channels and launch at Bape stores globally on June 30.

Sesame Street Content Debuts on iQIYI

Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, launched its first branded Sesame Street section on iQIYI, China’s largest online video platform.

The Sesame Street section, which debuted this month, features exclusive seasons of Sesame Street, The Furchester HotelSmart CookiesSuper Grover 2.0, Abby’s Flying Fairy School, and Super Healthy Monsters. Now, for the first time in China, audiences can enjoy Sesame Street programs in English as well as Mandarin.

Animaccord, Viber Release Masha and the Bear Virtual Stickers

Animaccord, the rights holder of the 3-D animated family show, Masha and the Bear, designed a branded virtual sticker pack featuring the cartoon’s characters. It released globally this week through the instant messaging platform, Viber.

Viber first launched the Masha and the Bear winter stickers in December of 2017, which were previously available only for the CIS users. Based on the worldwide awareness of the series, Viber expanded the territory and release for the new sticker pack.

Party City to Launch Toy City Pop-Up Stores

PartyCity_storeParty City Holdco Inc. will expand its temporary store offerings through the expected piloting of approximately 50 new Toy City pop-up stores. The temporary Toy City sites will launch alongside Halloween City pop-up stores in a variety of locations nationwide. The sites were selected based on optimal location and leasing opportunities.

By co-locating the Toy City pop-ups alongside Halloween City locations, the company will create a concurrent seasonal and toy destination, with an integrated shopping and checkout experience. The Toy City pop-up stores will open in September in conjunction with the Party City’s Halloween City openings, and operate through the holiday season.

Party City will also test an expansion of its online assortment of toy offerings, providing a broader range of toy products to choose from.

This news follows the December 2017 appointment of Jamie Uitdenhowen, previously vice president and general manager of Toys “R” Us Business, as chief merchandising officer at Party City.

Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club stars an animated Warren Buffett and features a group of kids who have adventures in business, mentored by Buffett. The series features the guest talents of Bill Gates, Jay-Z, Shaquille O’Neal, Nick Cannon, Gisele Bündchen, and Kelly Rowland.  The celebrities play themselves, provide their own voiceovers, and lend the lessons of their own life experiences in the context of stories.
