STX Entertainment, White Space Appoint Jay Franco as Home Licensee for UglyDolls

UglyDolls_White Space Entertainment, global master licensing agent for STX Entertainment, selected Jay Franco as home licensing partner for the UglyDolls brand. Under the licensing agreement, Jay Franco will have rights to a variety of home products, including bedding, bath, pillow, beach, and more.

The UglyDolls franchise will debut with an animated feature film, which will be released via STXfilms next year. Additional UglyDolls projects are currently in development across STX’s divisions, including STXtelevision, STXdigital, and STXsurreal. Uglydolls has been a specialty brand of plush and other trend-driven products since 2001.


Lindt to Launch Geronimo Stilton Candy Line

Lindt_GeronimoStiltonAtlantyca Entertainment’s Geronimo Stilton partnered with chocolatier Lindt & Sprungli to produce a selection of branded chocolate. The pack of chocolates will feature Geronimo Stilton on the wrap and will include a Geronimo Stilton gift inside. There will be four different gifts available: key ring, pencil case, plush, and a selection of Geronimo Stilton books.

The chocolates will be available for back-to-school and sold in local pastry shops, ice cream stores, and chocolate confectionery shops.

ORB Launches Soft’n Slo Squishies Web Series

Cartoon Network Appoints New Head of Licensing and Consumer Products in APAC Region

CartoonNetwork_VikramSharmaTurner Asia Pacific appointed Vikram Sharma as vice president of Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE) for licensing and merchandising division in the Asia Pacific region. Sharma will be responsible for driving sales for branded toys, apparel, home entertainment, publishing, and lifestyle products, including live events and themed entertainment.

This will include franchises and IP under CNE’s management from the Cartoon Network portfolio of shows, as well as Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty. He’ll also be responsible for the management of Tuzki, the digital IP and emoticon of choice in China and beyond. In South Asia, Turner acts as a representative for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. LIMA Announces 2018 International Licensing Awards Nominees

May27LIMA(2)Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) announced the ballot for the 2018 International Licensing Awards, featuring 132 nominees from 16 countries. 42 percent of this year’s nominees originate from outside the U.S.—up from 25 percent from last year—demonstrating the increasing international reach of the awards program.

eOne to Launch Peppa Pig Consumer Products Program in Japan

PeppaPig_JapanLaunchFollowing the broadcast launch of Entertainment One’s (eOne) Peppa Pig in Japan last fall, the property’s merchandise will launch in the region with an exclusive retail event.

Sega Toys, the master licensee in Japan, will launch the new products at an exclusive “Peppa Pig Goes to London” pop-up store this spring. Inspired by the storybook Peppa Pig Goes to London, the pop-up store will run from March 28 to April 3 at Takashimaya Shinjuku department store in Tokyo.
