Discovery Kids Acquires Wissper from m4e for Latin America

Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic (DLA/USH) and m4e AG signed a deal to launch new CGI-animated series Wissper in Latin America. Wissper will broadcast on Discovery Kids, DLA/USH’s 24-hour preschool network next year.

The TV series follows the adventures of a little girl Wissper, who has the ability to communicate with animals, allowing her to understand them and solve their problems.

Build-A-Bear Workshop and Spin Master Corp signed an agreement to make, market and distribute a line of craft activity products for kids ages 4 to 10. The product line is scheduled for a launch next fall, with plans to rollout globally in 2017.

Tommy Bahama Expands its Relaxed Lifestyle Brand to Waikiki

The Tommy Bahama Restaurant Bar and Store launched its eighth retail space in Hawaii at a beachfront in Waikiki on October 30.

The three-level, 19,200 square-foot flagship houses a ground floor retail space, a second story restaurant, and a rooftop lounge with a sand patio.

The building features Hawaiian design elements, a dramatic living wall overflowing with native tropical plants, and a smaller herb wall harvested by the chef. Three vintage custom-deigned surfboards from Tom Pohaku Stone, a legendary native Hawaiian surfer, are on display in the restaurant and the store.

Tommy Bahama offers coastal apparel, accessories, home décor, cookbooks, and specialty goods in line with the brand’s philosophy – make life one long weekend. The restaurant offers island-inspired dishes that use locally sourced ingredients to support Hawaiian farmers and vendors.

Petco launched Harajuku Lovers by Gwen Stefani, a fun and fashionable pet line, at stores nationwide on November 8. The collection featuring more than 30 design-driven dog products, including a union jack sweater, a doughnut toy, checkers socks, and a fedora hat is also available online at www.petco.com/harajukulovers.

Petco’s grooming salons will also offer a Harajuku Lovers spa package featuring custom shampoos, conditioners, and fashion pawlish.

Harris-Sachs LLC Brokers Puppy In My Pocket Licensing Deal

Jim Sachs, partner of Harris-Sachs LLC, has announced a licensing partnership for its client Pamson Pacific Enterprises Corp Ltd. for Puppy In My Pocket. The deal was brokered through Harris-Sachs LLC with Licensing Works!

Pamson Pacific’s grant of rights includes a spring/summer line of toys, including Bubble Toys, Chalk Toys, and Jump Ropes among other seasonal items for kids. Puppy In My Pocket is currently available at Walmart, Toys “R” Us, Kmart, and Target in the U.S. Pamson is scheduled to introduce the line at the Hong Kong show and the New York Toy Fair in January.

Plumzi and American Greetings Entertainment have launched a free Care Bears appisode Care Bear-A-Thon. Care Bears fans can now interact with their favorite characters on Apple TV as they progress through the story using touchscreen and motion-sensing capabilities of a Siri remote.

Kids can make the Funshine Bear pedal faster by spinning the remote, draw their name on Funshine’s notepad by scribbling on the Siri remote, and help Tenderheart Bear meditate by swiping the touchscreen to play music on a harp.

Little Golden Books will extend its collection of characters this July to include Grumpy Cat, the world’s most famous cat. A+E Networks and Vice to Launch TV Network

A+E Networks’ channel H2 will transition to a 24-hour network called Viceland early next year, according to a deal finalized with Vice Media. Viceland will be distributed in approximately 70 million homes, and will feature new programming produced in-house by Vice.

The channel will open to a full slate of prime-time shows, including Gaycation (with Ellen Page and Ian Daniel), Huang’s World (with Eddie Huang), Noisey (with Zach Goldbaum), Vice World of Sports (with Sal Masekela), Black Market (with Michael K. Williams), Flophouse, Party Legends, Weediquette (with Krishna Andavolu), and more.

AAHG Partners Twentieth Century Fox to Open Theme Park and Resort in Dubai

Al Ahli Holding Group (AAHG) has partnered with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products to build a Fox-branded theme park and resort in Dubai. This will be the second Twentieth Century Fox World theme park and the first Fox-branded resort in the world. The deal allows for a rollout of up to three additional Fox-branded resorts in territories outside Dubai.

Twentieth Century Fox World, slated to open in 2018, will feature unique attractions including Ice Age, Planet of the Apes, Aliens, Predator, Night at the Museum, Titanic, The Simpsons, and Sons of Anarchy. The park will also feature rides and retail outlets that will bring to life the studio’s iconic film and TV franchises.
