Alvin and the Chipmunks Hits the Road Live

A&CAlvin and the Chipmunks: Live on Stage, from Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products and Iconic Entertainment Studios, is going on tour to perform 80 shows in more than 50 cities nationwide. The first show will be on October 5 in Canada.

The Chipmunk trio will be accompanied by the Chipettes and will feature a world-class production of music, special effects, and immersive interactivity to encourage audience participation.

Based on the characters from the Twentieth Century Fox movies, the Chipmunks will perform hits by One Direction, Maroon5, Carly Rae Jepson, and Elvis Presley. The show is produced by Iconic Entertainment Studios.

LIMA Teams with Promarca to Form LIMA Mexico

May27LIMA(2)The International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA), the primary trade group for the worldwide licensing business, is joining forces with Promarca in Mexico to extend LIMA’s reach into the Latin American market with the formation of LIMA Mexico. The new arm of the organization will operate under a license from LIMA, utilizing the trade association’s trademark and related intellectual property.

Under the new agreement, Promarca affiliates will become LIMA Mexico members with full LIMA benefits. With the opening of LIMA Mexico, the association will have seven international offices, including New York, London, Munich, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Melbourne.

A managing director of LIMA Mexico will be named soon.

ShopkinsBulldog Licensing has signed deals with Roy Lowe and Sons, MV Sports & Leisure Ltd., and Goliath Games for its Shopkins brand.

Through the agreements, Roy Lowe will produce socks; MV will develop wheeled goods, including bikes and scooters; and Goliath Games will create boardgames to be sold in the U.S. and distributed in the UK by John Adams Leisure Ltd.

ITVS GE Acquires Poldark License

unnamedITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) will create a consumer products program for Poldark, the new TV adaptation of Winston Graham’s book series. Co-produced by Mammoth Screen and MasterpiecePoldark currently airs in the UK on BBC One and has been commissioned for a second series.

ITVS GE is seeking licensing partners in categories including apparel and accessories, homewares, gifting, stationery, and personal care. Merchandise will target the female adult market, with a secondary audience of gift buyers and men. Its first partner Danilo will create a calendar inspired by the series, set to debut at UK retail this fall.
