RGH Partners with Unique Features on Animated Film Based on High in the Clouds by Paul McCartney

RGH Entertainment, a subsidiary of Rubicon Group Holding, and Unique Features are partnering to make Paul McCartney’s High in the Clouds into a 3-D-animated film. This feature-film project is based on the children’s book about a squirrel’s quest to find a fabled animal sanctuary called, Animalia, written by McCartney, Geoff Dunbar, and Philip Ardagh. RGH has also collaborated with leading producers, marketers, composers, and writers to further develop the film.

Additionally, McCartney will compose a number of original songs for the film, Tony Bancroft will direct the feature, and Evolution, the exclusive consumer products agency for RGH, will spearhead the global licensing and merchandising campaign.

High in the Clouds will be produced by Unique’s Michael Lynne and Bob Shaye, with RGH’s Randa Ayoubi and David Corbett serving as executive producers. The film will be released in 3D CGI stereoscopic in 2015.

Arsenal Player Resembles The Hive’s Buzzbee

The Hive, broadcasted in over 150 countries by The Walt Disney Company EMEA, has Arsenal FC fans chuckling as their newest player, Mesut Ozil, has a distinct resemblance to the hit-show’s star, Buzzbee. Even Match of the Day magazine featured the two look-a-likes side by side in its latest issue.  The Hive is creating even more buzz as it recently launched on Disney Jr. in the U.S. and is shown on ITV and Disney Jr. in the UK and on ABC2 in Australia. The Hive is represented by global licensing agent Space Enterprises.

ITV Announces Thunderbirds Are Go! Voice Cast

ITV Studios and Pukeko Pictures have revealed the voice cast for the iconic series, Thunderbirds Are Go!, which has been re-invented since its TV debut fifty years ago. The new talented cast is led by Rosamund Pike as Lady Penelope and David Graham (Thunderbirds 1965) reprising his role as chauffeur and International Rescue agent Parker.

Additional cast members include; Inventor Brains voiced by Kayvan Novak (Fonejacker, Facejacker); Tracy brothers Gordon and John voiced by Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Love Actually, Game of Thrones); Tracy brothers Alan and Scott voiced by Rasmus Hardiker (Saxondale, Lead Balloon); Tracy brother, Virgil, voiced by David Menkin; Grandma Tracy voiced by Sandra Dickinson; and master villain The Hood voiced by Andres Williams.

Thunderbirds Are Go! will feature new characters including Kayo and Colonel Casey who will be voiced by Angel Coulby and Adjoa Andoh. The re-invented series will even be produced using an innovative mix of CGI animation and live-action miniature sets.

Dynamite Entertainment Expands with New Division Dynamite Toys and Games

At the Dallas Fall Toy PreviewDynamite Entertainment has announced the creation of a new division, Dynamite Toys and Games which is dedicated to the production and manufacture of action figures, novelty products, gaming cards, board games, and more. As leading publisher of original and licensed comic books, graphic novels, and e-books, Dynamite Entertainment, is coming up on its tenth anniversary next year and expects to develop new collectibles to incorporate their exciting new licenses.

With The Six Million Dollar Man’s character to celebrate its 40th anniversary, Dynamite Toys and Games will release action figures, a statue, and novelties all related to the brand. A new line of figures will also be developed for the horror character, Vampirella, reflecting the character’s forty-five years of publication. Limited edition reissues of classic sculpts, including action figures, Evil Ernie, Chastity, Jade, Lady Demon, Purgatori, and more will also be released as the toy division is to reinstate the Eternal Toys brand. Other initial planned releases include properties such as Red Sonja and Army of Darkness.

Museum Of The Moving Image Hosts Big Screen Viewing of Breaking Bad Series Finale

What will happen to Walter White? The AMC television series Breaking Bad, winner of the Emmy for Best Dramatic Series, will end on Sunday, September 29 with its final episode. In conjunction with the exhibit From Mr. Chips to Scarface: Walter White’s Transformation in Breaking Bad, the Museum will present a live screening of the series finale, in the beautiful Redstone Theater. The series has received praise for its cinematic quality, and here is a special opportunity to experience it on the big screen with an audience full of the show’s fans.

The Museum’s Breaking Bad exhibit, which features costumes worn by Bryan Cranston’s character alongside iconic props from the show, will be open from 7:00-9:00 p.m. prior to the event. The exhibit will continue to be on view at the Museum through October 27.

Tickets are no longer available for this live viewing, which were offered in advance, free with Museum admission.

Later this year, Mezco will donate the prototypes of the action figures to be included in the museum’s renowned Behind The Screen exhibit of movie tie in products. Electronic Arts Reaches Proposed Settlement with Athletes in Likeness Case

On Thursday, attorneys representing student athletes who claim Electronic Arts (EA) illegally used student-athletes’ likenesses in the company’s popular NCAA Football video games confirmed they have reached a proposed settlement.

The settlement covers claims made in cases by former players Sam Keller and Ed O’Bannon against EA, along with cases by former players Shawne Alston and Ryan Hart, but must be approved by the court. The amount and other terms are confidential pending a court filing.

EA and attorneys for the student-athletes reached the settlement after the United States Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the proposed class-action lawsuit in an attempt by EA to dismiss the case. The ruling remanded the case to U.S. District Court, allowing attorneys for the plaintiffs to seek class certification. The settlement with EA will allow attorneys to focus on claims against the NCAA, which has not settled. Read the rest of this entry »

The Jim Henson Company is expanding new international television, home entertainment, digital, and consumer products licensing agreements for the Dinosaur Train series.

International Television

Season two has been licensed to Nickelodeon UK, Canal+’s Piwi in France, and YLE in Finland. Season one has been licensed to Channel 11 in Australia.   Seasons one and two have been licensed to Canal Panda in Portugal and Zee Learn in India.
