Technicolor Expands Experiences, Licensees for The Deep

technicolor 4dTechnicolor will expand the program for The Deep with the launch of a new 4D theatrical immersive experience, as well as branded products.

Technicolor and SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment will premiere the first theatrical experience based on the underwater adventure series this month.  The 12-minute, 3D viewing experience features exclusive 3D CG animation, an original storyline, and special effects. Additionally, special effects include a 4D experience with vibrating seats, spraying water, and bubbles. All locations will feature the film for a one-year period, supported by a variety of marketing and in-aquarium activities. 

Additionally, German broadcast partner and licensing agent SuperRTL signed a licensing agreement for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with TIB Heyne & Co. for partyware and St. Martin Lanterns; Blue Ocean Entertainment AG licensed the rights for print magazines with covermount; and Justbridge Entertainment GmbH was appointed home video (DVD/BluRay) and download rights.

The new deal follows the recent agreements with Bloomsbury as global publishing partner to produce a range of books including young fiction, official handbooks, and activity-based books that will initially launch in the UK and Australia. Toybox Magazine will feature the brand including pages, workbooks, and covermounts in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, and Eire.

The new products will launch this fall, coinciding with the launch from master toy partner Simba Toys fora range of figures, play sets, and role-play toys, and accessories in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the UK, with other countries to follow next year.
