Nelvana Expands Ranger Rob Licensing Program, Broadcast Partners

Nelvana_RangerRobCorus Entertainment’s Nelvana added new deals for its original preschool adventure series, Ranger Rob. The second season will launch on Treehouse in Canada this June, and on Universal Kids’ Sprout later this year.

Newly announced licensees include J Corp for apparel, Black & White for footwear, and Jellifish for sleepwear. Product will begin to launch in Canadian beginning this fall. Super Wings Merchandise Flies into North America

superwingsCorus Entertainment’s Nelvana Enterprises has signed a deal with CJ E&M, Asia’s No. 1 entertainment and media company, to represent the North American merchandise licensing rights for the preschool series, Super Wings. Nelvana will represent Super Wings in all merchandise categories with the exception of toys, which will be distributed by Auldey Toys North America in the U.S., and Imports Dragon in Canada.

Super Wings, co-produced by FunnyFlux Entertainment has aired in more than 40 countries worldwide. In the U.S., Super Wings currently airs on Sprout, and the series will launch on Canada’s preschool network, Treehouse this fall.

Super Wings follows the adventures of Jett, a jet plane who travels around the world delivering packages to kids with his group of airplane friends, the Super Wings. The Super Wings have the ability to transform into heroes who can run, climb, dig, and swim.

eOne Names Nelvana Exclusive Licensing and Branding Agent for Peppa Pig in Canada

Peppa Pig logoEntertainment One (eOne), co-owners and worldwide distributors of global preschool property Peppa Pig, has named Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana, a worldwide children’s entertainment producer and distributor, as the property’s exclusive licensing and branding agent in Canada. Peppa Pig, which airs weekdays on Treehouse in Canada, will expand its footprint in North America with a consumer products initiative set to roll out to mass market stores across the region in fall of next year.

Nelvana Begins Production on Trucktown

Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Studio has announced start of production on a new boys preschool CGI-animated series Trucktown, based on a series of children’s books. Forty half-hour episodes will launch next spring. Corus Entertainment’s Treehouse is the first broadcaster to pick up the brand new series.

Trucktown, which follows the playful adventures of a group of rough-and-tumble young trucks, is based on a successful series of bestselling books by renowned children’s author Jon Scieszka and published by Simon & Schuster.

Nelvana Enterprises Launches Kids’ Vitamins from Webber Naturals

Nelvana Enterprises and Webber Naturals announce a new line of children’s vitamin supplements featuring animated characters from Max and Ruby, Franklin and Friends, and The Backyardigans. The shows air on Corus Entertainment’s 24-hour preschool channel, Treehouse. The supplements, which mark Webber Naturals’ first use of animated character shapes, can now be found on pharmacy supplement shelves in the U.S. and Canada.

Webber Naturals’ Treehouse-branded supplements line features seven products which contain no artificial colours or wheat. The line includes chewable multivitamins, chewable vitamin C, and chewable and liquid vitamin D in great-tasting natural flavours such as tropical fruit and wildberry.

Treehouse is seen by preschoolers in more than 8.5 million Canadian homes, and is part of Corus Entertainment’s family of kids’ brands.

New Animated Lalaloopsy Preschool Series to Launch on Treehouse in Canada

MGA Entertainment, Inc. has joined with Corus Entertainment to launch the new animated series, Lalaloopsy, on Treehouse, the No. 1 preschool network in Canada. Following the U.S. debut of the animated series last month on Nickelodeon, Lalaloopsy will premiere on Treehouse with 52 22-minute episodes, beginning May 4.

Lalaloopsy focuses on fun and friendship in an animated series that combines magical tales and important child developmental themes such as diversity, friendship, and teamwork. Starring in the series are the original eight Lalaloopsy characters including Crumbs Sugar Cookie, Mittens Fluff ‘n Stuff, Bea Spells-a-Lot, Pillow Featherbed, Jewel Sparkles, Peanut Big Top, Spot Splatter Splash, Dot Starlight, and their friends.

Corus becomes the latest major media company to join a group of more than 200 blue chip partners from around the world for Lalaloopsy, reflecting the brand’s continuing and successful global expansion.

Helping to finalize the deal with Corus Entertainment is Studio Licensing, Inc., appointed by MGA Entertainment to represent the licensing and merchandising of its consumer products business in Canada. Studio Licensing will design and launch licensing programs across multiple consumer product categories aimed at supporting MGA’s diverse toy releases and broadcast of its high-profile brand-based television programming.

Dinopaws Greenlit by BBC Worldwide, CBeebies, and Treehouse

Dinopaws, an international co-production between Impossible Kids (UK), Kindle Entertainment (UK) and Guru Studio (Canada), has been commissioned by UK kids channel CBeebies, the international CBeebies network (BBC Worldwide Channels), and Canadian children’s broadcaster Treehouse. BBC Worldwide has also picked up global television distribution rights outside of the UK and Canada, and global merchandising rights.

Dinopaws is planned for delivery next spring. The preschool series is set to air in Canada and the UK, and on BBC Worldwide’s CBeebies channels across its six key markets: Poland, the Nordic region, Africa, Australia, Asia, Latin America, and U.S. Hispanic markets.
