Genius Brands International Inc. licensed exclusive broadcast rights for season one of Rainbow Rangers to Nickelodeon in the U.S. and Caribbean. In the Night Garden and the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) partnered for a host of green-fingered activities to mark the 10th anniversary of the brand.
Celebrating ‘Ten Years of Magical Journeys,” the activities will run from May until the end of June, and will consist of magical paper trails at all four RHS gardens throughout England. Shout! Factory and UYoung partnered to bring preschool series P. King Duckling to the home entertainment marketplace in North America. This multi-year alliance provides Shout! Factory with exclusive home entertainment distribution rights (DVD and EST) in the U.S. and Canada for all 26 half-hour episodes of the first season of P. King Duckling.
Shout! Factory will plan a strategic rollout of this series, beginning in September through Shout’s kids and family imprint, Shout! Factory Kids. Broadcasted in the U.S. on Disney Junior, the new preschool comedy series has a learning-focused curriculumthat centers on overcoming challenges and inspiring creative thinking. The Alpha Group US LLC, a subsidiary of The Alpha Group, announced the season two launch of Super Wings on Sprout this week.
The original preschool series follows an adorable jet plane named Jett who travels the world delivering packages to children. On every delivery, Jett encounters a new problem that he and his friends the Super Wings must work together to solve. Season two will feature new story-lines, destinations, and characters.
Boat Rocker and Industrial Brothers named Fisher-Price master toy partner for the new original series Kingdom Force.
Kingdom Force was created by Industrial Brothers’ Matt Fernandes and will be co-produced by Industrial Brothers and Boat Rocker Studios. Boat Rocker will distribute the series internationally and manage the merchandising and licensing for the brand on all platforms, as well as leading the digital and brand initiatives. 9 Story Distribution International acquired three children’s series for international distribution. The acquisitions include Vivi, Ruby’s Studio, and short series My Friend Bubbles. 9 Story plans to showcase each series at MipTV.
Acquired from Brazilian-based Mixer Films, Vivi follows seven year old Vivi and her friends, Backpack and Flashy, as they embark on magical journeys to fantastic new places while learning something about the world and ultimately themselves. 9 Story Distribution International acquired all international rights to the 26 x 11 minute series, excluding Latin America, where the series is set to air on Discovery Kids. Sesame Workshop announced a new phase of the autism initiative Sesame Street and Autism: See Amazing in All Children, which welcomes Julia, a Muppet with autism. Julia was introduced last year in digital form and will come to life as a Muppet, in addition to a release of resources designed to increase awareness and understanding of autism.
The See Amazing library will add digital videos, books, and e-books, which will be available in English and Spanish. The “Meet Julia” special episode airs on next month on HBO and PBS KIDS in the U.S. and around the world on Cartoonito UK, Australia’s ABC network, and Mexico’s Televisa, with worldwide rollout planned within the year. DHX Media signed an exclusive deal with ZDF to launch season one of its new Teletubbies series on children’s channel KiKA in Germany. The launch builds on the original version of the preschool series that first aired in Germany in 1999.
The global licensing program for the new Teletubbies series is growing rapidly, with more than 85 partners signed to date. The series follows the same four characters and styling as the original show, but brings a contemporary look and feel to the preschool properties. The series has been picked up by 24 broadcasters worldwide, as well as Amazon Prime Video in the U.K., where the commissioning broadcaster is CBeebies.
Fisher-Price partnered with BabyFirst to produce short parenting tip videos that will premiere on the BabyFirst broadcast network and on both brand’s digital and social channels beginning on March 20.
The parenting tips series focuses on topics related to all aspects of development, including sleep and bedtime rituals, language skill development, achieving physical developmental milestones, as well as building emotional literacy. Read the rest of this entry »
