The collaboration starts with two Zag Heroez animated series Power Players, which features a team of secret heroes formed by a boy and his toys, and Pixigirl, which tells the story of a super-heroine with the supernatural powers of Mother Nature who battles evil witches in New York. Thomas & Friends, from Mattel Inc., kicked off its first global brand campaign with a year-long marketing program, Set Friendship in Motion.
The campaign aims to help preschoolers strengthen friendship skills, such as collaboration, communication, sharing, manners, kindness, and the abilities to express and understand feelings and emotions. UK and LA based independent film and TV producer Komixx Entertainment Ltd. secured a development deal with BBC Worldwide for Stanley the Can-Do Hamster. The animated TV series is based on the Stanley picture books by children’s author and illustrator William Bee.
BBC Worldwide will be the executive producers on the animated series and have exclusive rights to all other IP business rights globally, including transmitting the series on their worldwide Cbeebies channels. Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana adds new consumer products partners in France for its animated series Super Wings. In addition, a new weekday timeslot was secured for the preschool series on the Gullidoo children’s programming block on France’s Gulli last month. Super Wings also airs on Piwi+.
Nelvana signed 15 new consumer products agreements for Super Wings, including: master toy licensee Auldey; AD global for toys and accessories; ATM for back-to-school; Bon Bon for confectionery; Canal Toys for arts and crafts; Chauss Europ for footwear; Clementoni for puzzles and games; D’Arpeje for wheeled toys; Dekora for cake decorations; Famosa for ride-ons; Biochi Preziosi for balls and educational and electronic games; Hemma for publishing; Pik and Roll for bicycles; Play By Play for plush; and Sun City for apparel.

Sprout will expand its growing original programming lineup with the addition of Remy and Boo. The series will premiere on Sprout next year.
Set in the near future, Remy and Boo is a CGI- animated series that tells the story of the friendship between five-year-old Remy and her newfound robot friend Boo, who is programmed to learn and feel real emotions. The show follows their journey of love, friendship, and what it truly means to be human.
Sprout also announced second seasons of two of its originals. Floogals will go into production with Nevision for a season 2 launch next year. The network will also move forward with Nina’s World with a season 2 greenlight for 26 new episodes. Read the rest of this entry »

This year, Sesame Workshop will launch Spread Kindness, #ShareTheLaughter, a year-long global multimedia campaign. During the campaign, kids will find kindness-themed episodes on the 47th season of Sesame Street on HBO and PBS KIDS, as well as new and classic videos and songs that will stream on social media channels and celebrate kindness. Guru Studio appointed Brand Central LLC as its exclusive licensing agency to represent the new CGI-animated preschool series True and the Rainbow Kingdom. The Netflix Original series will debut this summer, with a second season set to air in the fall. The series will also make its Canadian premiere on TVO this summer.
