Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana partnered with Discovery Kids to bring 26 hilarious episodes of its animated series The ZhuZhus throughout Latin America and the Caribbean beginning this May. In addition, Nelvana has completed a broadcast extension deal with Discovery Kids for Backyardigans ensuring the series’ 80 episodes remain on-air in Latin America and the Caribbean. Next month, The ZhuZhus debut new episodes that feature Frankie, Pipsqueak, Num Nums, Chunk, and Mr. Squiggles. A new episode will premiere on the Disney Channel every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 a.m. between January 7 to 29.
The new episodes include: “Zhu Years Evel,” “Lookies for Cookies,” “Storming The Cat Castle,” “Ha Ha Hamsters,” “Fur-Vivor,” “Zhuper Girl,” “Wingin’ It,” “Dreams O’Clock,” “Badge To the Bone,” “Full Groan,” “The Shell Game,” “If Wishes Were Rainbows,” “Deja Zhu,” “A Total Bust A Move,” and “The Grand Zhu Zhu Pets Hotel.”
Nelvana licensed the multi-territory broadcast and on-demand rights for Polly and the ZhuZhu Pets to Disney Channels Worldwide.
The TV series is set to air on Disney Channel in the U.S. on Sept. 12, followed by Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Corus Entertainment’s Canadian premiere date will be announced at a later date.
