eOne’s Peppa Pig My First Cinema Experience: Peppa’s Australian Holiday marked the theatrical debut for Peppa Pig in Australia, where the release hit 241 screens across the country and debuted at no. 6 in the overall box office chart. Since it opened last month, the release has earned box office receipts of AUS $2.16 million.
The Peppa Pig My First Cinema Experience also premiered on April 7 in the UK screening in more than 500 cinemas nationwide. Entertainment One (eOne) outlined plans to strengthen its brands in Latin America with a new appointment to manage its portfolio for TV properties including, Peppa Pig, Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom, and PJ Masks.

Entertainment One (eOne)’s Peppa Pig was named Best New Property at the Asia Licensing Awards, which took place recently at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center this month.
This year, eOne strengthened the presence of Peppa Pig in Asia. Broadcast and merchandise launched in South Korea last October and merchandise became widely available across South East Asia, including Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Peppa Pig also became one of the most popular programs for preschoolers in mainland China. The global, ad-free, preschool entertainment platform Hopster is now available to Roku users in the U.S., Canada, the UK, and Ireland, as well as in France with a localized French language app.
The Hopster channel for Roku devices is designed to be easy-to-use for kids, and provides preschool entertainment without ads or inappropriate content. Hopster features series such as, Peppa Pig, Super Why!, Teletubbies, Reading Rainbow, and Monster Math Squad. Content will vary by country, but all content available on Hopster is carefully selected to support the Hopster Discovery Learning Map, which is a curriculum for preschool learning. The TV series made its broadcast debut in the country last summer on VOOT Kids, the video on demand (VoD) destination by Viacom18 for kids’ content in India. Since its launch on-air in China last year, Entertainment One’s Peppa Pig has over 5.4 billion views on its three on demand platforms, IQIY, Youku and Tudou. It is also one of the most popular programs for pre-schoolers on state television broadcaster CCTV, where its repeat was the No. 1 animated show in its time slot.

Entertainment One (eOne) has announced the strong broadcast and retail success of Peppa Pig in Mexico, demonstrating a stronghold for the preschool property in the territory.
Launched on Mexico’s Channel 5 in November 2013, the show has become a favorite with preschool audiences, reaching a rating of 2.4 points. Peppa Pig consistently achieves strong audience figures and is now one of the top three rated shows in the country.
The Peppa Pig licensing program has also seen positive results since its launch last year. Managed by Televisa Consumer Products, the consumer products program now boasts 50 licensees across 16 categories and strong retail sales.
In October Peppa Pig won the Best Preschool Brand of 2015 Award in the prestigious ProMarca Awards.
Comedian, actor, quiz show and television presenter Alexander Armstrong is to host The Licensing Awards 2015, which will take place on September 15th in The Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
Alexander is perhaps best known as one half of comedy duo Armstrong and Miller and host of the popular BBC game show Pointless. Currently the voice of Danger Mouse in the revival of the 1980’s animated series on CBBC, he also voices the characters of Mr. Wolf and Policeman Stag in Peppa Pig.
Ian Hyder, director of The Licensing Awards and The Licensing Source Book (which owns and organizes the Awards) commented: “Alexander Armstrong is the perfect host for The Awards, a charming comedian at the top of his game who will be sure to make it a night to remember!”
