Jakks Pacific, Paramount Pictures Partner for Creepy Crawlers Film

Jakks_CreepyCrawlersParamount Players acquired the film rights to Jakks Pacific’s Creepy Crawlers toy brand.

Neal H. Moritz and Marc Gurvitz will produce the film, and Toby Ascher and Stephen Berman will serve as executive producers. Ali Bell and Royce Reeves-Darby will oversee the prpject for Paramount Players,

Production of the film is subject to the conclusion of definitive production agreements among the parties.

Paramount Pictures Adds Partners and Licensees for Baywatch

BaywatchFilmParamount Pictures announced brand partners and licensees with promotional programs for the new Baywatch film.

Trevco Hires Jennifer Nuccio as VP of Licensing

Trevco has hired Jennifer Nuccio as its vice president of licensing. In her new role she will manage a portfolio of more than 500 licensed properties, including licensors Warner Bros., NBC/Universal, CBS, Paramount, DreamWorks, and 20th Century Fox.

Nuccio will work to identify new opportunities to add to Trevco’s substantial licensing roster and support creative and sales efforts to help fuel the company’s traditional brick-and-mortar sales as well as its growing e-retail business.

Nuccio has more than 10 years experience in the licensing industry beginning at Fisher PriceMattel and then Iconix. Previously she served as the retail account executive at Fantasia Accessories, a New York-based fashion accessory wholesaler.

Paramount Animation Teams with Spin Master for Monster Trucks

This is the first licensee partnership for the Monster Trucks film, and will feature an extensive line of vehicle-based products. The movie is slated for release next spring.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Merchandising Lineup Unveiled

UnknownNickelodeon has unveiled the merchandising lineup for the new Paramount Pictures movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, landing in theaters August 8. The full product line will be available this summer and throughout the holiday season.

Target will be the official destination for all things Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT). Toys and video games will be available from Playmates Toys, Lego, and Activision Publishing Inc. ACI, Accutime, Bentex, Berkshire, Bioworld, Crocs, FGX International, Freeze, Handcraft, Hanover, H.E.R. Accessories, High Point, Isaac Morris, LF USA, MZ Bergerm Nouveau, Pan Oceanic, PS Brands, Richard Leeds and Rubie’s Costume Co. will offer costumes, apparel, and accessories. Home décor will be form Accessory Innovations, Global Designs Concepts, Loungefly, Thermos, and Zak Designs. Insight Editions and Paramount Home Entertainment will provide publishing and home entertainment.

Saban Brands Names Spin Master as Global Master Toy Licensee for Popples

Saban Brands has partnered with Spin Master as global master toy licensee for Saban’s Popples brand. Popples, which launches next year, is a new animated children’s series based on the television series and toy line from the 1980s. Spin master will produce a line of children’s toys, including small dolls, collectible figures, play sets, and plush. The products will hit the U.S. market next year, followed by an expanded international program in 2016.

Popples is a comedy series about a species of creatures that can pop into a ball. The characters are the Best Popple Pals, who always want to help their friends, neighbors, and each other.

In addition, Spin Master has partnered with Paramount Licensing to be the master toy licensee for next summer’s Monster Trucks movie. Paramount Licensing will make a major consumer products launch for the film and Spin Master will produce an extensive line of vehicle-based products that will launch alongside the film.

Top Gun App Hits the iPad

As a not insignificant number of you probably know, Apple’s iPad hit stores on Thursday and sold more than a half million units its first weekend. What you might not have known is that the very same iPad you might be holding serves as a highway to the danger zone.

On Friday, Paramount Digital Entertainment released its Top Gun app for the iPad, which expands on the popular game for the iPhone and iTouch. The display on the iPad is bigger, and the new game incorporates new graphics and controls.

The Grease Line of Personal Checkbook Products Continues to Grow

We love the movie Grease. And we love shopping. Now, we can have the best of both worlds.

From licensee Styles Checks, the latest edition to the checkbook product line based on the Paramount film Grease has been expanded.  Fans can now go back to the summer nights of Rydell High with the latest addition to the Grease personal check and accessory collection.  The expanded line includes wallet-sized checks, address labels, leather checkbook covers, and contact cards.

505 Games Says “You’re the One That I Want”

If you’re like most people, you can sing and speak every word in the Paramount film Grease. You remember watching it when you were 10, 15, 20, 25…and you still watch it when it shows up on TV. Now, 505 Games will bring this timeless film to new generations in a format that speaks to them…video games.
505 Games has selected two developers to work on the Grease video game. Based on Paramount Pictures’ classic film, UK developer Zoë Mode will develop the Wii version and Big Head Games will develop the DS version.
“For this project we knew we had to employ developers of a certain calibre in order to really bring the Grease magic to the world of video games,” says Ian Howe, Managing Director, 505 Games.
Zoë Mode is best known for its work on the  Singstar series as well as Eye Toy: Play and Disney Sing It. Formed in 2007 out of Kuju Brighton, the company now boasts a London arm as well as a newly announced studio in San Francisco.
Since its formation in 2008, Big Head Games has steadily built a strong reputation for producing quality handheld titles.

Days of Thunder Comes to Kohl’s

RIPPLE JUNCTION -- T-Shirt 1 02-10I’m not a NASCAR fan, per se, but I’ve watched raced here and there (usually Daytona) and I absolutely loved Days of Thunder when it came out. To this day, my brother and I still yell “ICE CREAM?!?” at each other in reference to the scene were Robert Duvall tells Tom Cruise he can’t make a pit stop because they’re enjoying dessert.

So naturally I was pleased as punch this morning to see that Paramount and Ripple Junction’s line of Days of Thunder T-shirts will be available at Kohl’s in the spring. There will be three different designs, and the shirts will have an MSRP of of $18.99 each.
