DXH Media Launches Season Two of Teletubbies in the U.S.

teletubbiescarSeason two of DHX Media‘s Teletubbies premiered on Nick Jr. in the U.S. last week.

Season two also introduces viewers to a new area of Teletubbyland, the Hidey Hup, a beautiful hidden glade where Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po discover the Tubby Bouncy, Tubby Slidey, Tubby Spinny, and Tubby Uppy Downy–equipment that inspires loads of physical Teletubby fun.

The reimagined Teletubbies series is designed to captivate today’s digital toddlers with updated elements and CGI-enhancements, introducing a contemporary twist for a new generation of preschoolers.

Teletubbies Returns to German TV on KiKa

teletubbiescarDHX Media  signed an exclusive deal with ZDF to launch season one of its new Teletubbies series on children’s channel KiKA in Germany. The launch builds on the original version of the preschool series that first aired in Germany in 1999.

The global licensing program for the new Teletubbies series is growing rapidly, with more than 85 partners signed to date. The series follows the same four characters and styling as the original show, but brings a contemporary look and feel to the preschool properties. The series has been picked up by 24 broadcasters worldwide, as well as Amazon Prime Video in the U.K., where the commissioning broadcaster is CBeebies.

 

Teletubbies, Shop Direct Partner for Baby and Toddler Event

teletubbiesDHX Brands announced that Teletubbies will be the lead sponsor for the Shop Direct Baby and Toddler event, which starts this week and runs until April 17th. Shop Direct increased its category footprint of the  preschool brand to include bedding and blankets from Character World and the Teletubbies Crayola range. Shop Direct is the UK’s second largest pure-play digital retailer.

Teletubbies will be featured throughout the Baby and Toddler event on all the Very and Littlewoods platforms, email marketing materials, and digital ATL activities, as well as on third-party sites such as Mumsnet and BBC Good Food. The event will be supported by multi-branded activities including event emails, onsite category takeovers, and offsite digital support. There will also be homepage support for the campaign that will feature Teletubbies product placement.

DHX Brands Appoints New Licensees for Teletubbies Across North America

DHXMEdia_TeletubbiesDHX Brands Built Games, a video game developer and publisher, as part of nine new Teletubbies consumer products deals brokered via CPLG North America.

This spring, Built Games will launch Teletubbies Play Time, an interactive mobile app for kids that will help promote early learning, while engaging users and developing their senses and motor skills. Barnardo’s, Teletubbies Partner to Support Disadvantaged Kids in the UK

TeletubbiesNext year, Barnardo’s and Teletubbies will partner to raise money for a good cause. Starting in April, shoppers will be able to buy Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po limited edition merchandise from Barnardo’s shops across the UK to help support disadvantaged children in the UK.

The Teletubbies will also support the Barnardo’s Big Toddle, the largest annual fundraising event for kids under years olds. BOth Teletubbies and Bernardo’s Big Toddle will celebrate their 20th anniversaries next year.

DHX Media Licenses Kids’ Series to Amazon Prime in the UK and Germany

teletubbiesDHX Media will grow the digital presence of its shows in the UK and Germany after a deal with Amazon Prime Video, which will offer more than three dozen DHX Media kids’ shows to its subscribers.

Amazon Prime Video in the UK has licensed a number of titles, including season one of each of the new Teletubbies, Messy Goes to Okido, and Looped; seasons one and two of Hank Zipzer; season three of In the Night Garden; and seasons four and five of Caillou.

Teletubbies Heads to Italy with Rai

June4.TeletubbiesDHX Media has licensed its new and classic Teletubbies series to Italian broadcaster Rai.

Rai’s preschool-skewing channel, Rai YoYo, will air 60 12-minute episodes from the new series, which is currently in production and set to debut on CBeebies in the UK later this year. Rai YoYo will also have the rights to seasons one through 14 of the classic Teletubbies show.

With rewarding rituals, sound play, and physical comedy, new generation Teletubbies will build upon many familiar and beloved features of the original series, while offering some exciting and surprising developments too. The original episodes have aired in more than 120 territories in 45 different languages.
