JAKKS Pacific, WBCP Partner for DC Super Hero Girls Global Licensing Program

Jakks_DCSuperHeroGirlsJAKKS Pacific Inc. partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP), on behalf of DC Entertainment, for a multi-year, global licensing deal to manufacture, market, and distribute large action pose dolls, dress-up, and Get Ready for Action items based on the DC Super Hero Girls universe.

DC Super Hero Girls follows female Super Heroes and Super-Villains of the DC universe during their high school years, before they discover their full super power potential. Each character has their own storyline that explores what teen life is like as a Super Hero, including discovering unique abilities, nurturing powers, and mastering the fundamentals of being a hero.

The DC Super Hero Girls line will be available at retailers this fall.

Jakks_SmurfsJAKKS Pacific Inc., Lafig Belgium S.A., and Sony Pictures Consumer Products partnered for the global launch of Smurfs toys inspired by the animated film Smurfs: The Lost Village, from Sony Pictures Animation.

Jakks Pacific Enters Licensing Agreements with Cra-Z-Art, Morf, and More

jakksJakks Pacific Inc. signed a manufacturing and distribution agreement with Cra-Z-Art, a division of LaRose Industries LLC, for its Blo-Pens brand of products. The multi-year distribution agreement allows Cra-Z-Art to market, sell, and distribute the branded line of craft and activity airbrushed markers in the U.S. and Latin America. Cra-Z-Art Blo-Pens products will be available this fall. Jakks Pacific Launches Studio JP Content Development Division with China-Based Meisheng’s Rising Anime Studio

jakksJakks Pacific Inc. announced the launch of Studio JP, a division dedicated to creating and developing computer-generated animated content, in a joint venture with China’s Meisheng Cultural & Creative Corp.’s animation studio, Rising Anime. Jakks will have merchandising rights for kids’ consumer products in all markets except China, which Meisheng will spearhead through JAKKS Meisheng Trading (Shanghai) Ltd.

 

Entertainment One Signs New Deals for PJ Masks in the U.S.

pjmasksEntertainment One (eOne) expands its consumer products offerings for its newest series PJ Masks, which airs on Disney Channel and Disney Junior in the U.S. Happy Threads joins master toy licensee Just Play and master publishing partner Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing as the apparel partner. The new products will debut beginning this fall.

Other soft lines licensees for PJ Masks include backpacks, bags, and more from Accessory Innovations, a sleepwear line from AME, and costumes and holiday-themed accessories from Disguise.

eOne also secured new partners for toys, arts and crafts, party goods, and more including Amscan, Crayola, Cra-Z-Art, Jakks Pacific, Phoenix International, and Skyhigh International.

 

Disguise Adds New Lego Costumes this Halloween

disguise_legonexoknightDisguise Inc., the costume division of JAKKS Pacific Inc., will launch a line of costumes and accessories based on Lego Ninjago and Lego Nexo Knights minifigures. The costumes will be available at retailers nationwide in September.

WBCP and DC Entertainment Enter Global Licensing Programs for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Film

Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) signed new licensees for a global licensing and merchandising program for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, releasing in theaters on March 25.

Mattel will unveil a full toy line, including action figures, vehicles, play sets, and collectible figures; The Lego Group will launch construction sets; and Rubie’s Costume Co. will introduce a new line of costumes and accessories for kid and adults.

Other licensees include Funko for stylized collectible figures; Thinkway Toys for a role-play line; Jakks Pacific for Batman and Superman collectible figures; Tonner Dolls for detailed fashion dolls; Bandai America for poseable figure model kits; Spin Master for remote control Batmobiles; and Buffalo Games for adult puzzles.

Sideshow Collectibles will launch detailed statues; The Noble Collection will introduce prop replicas; NECA will launch an 18-inch figure; Soap Studios will launch replicas of the Batmobile; and Hot Toys, Kotobukiya, SquareEnix, Medicom Toy, Prime 1 Studio, and Union Creative will launch collectibles.

Licensees also include Bioworld, Junk Food, New Era Cap Co., Matchless London, Converse Kicks, Scholastic, and Titan Books.

Disguise and The LEGO Group to Build New Line of Costumes

DisguiseLogoDisguise Inc., the Halloween costume division of Jakks Pacific Inc., has secured a licensing agreement with the LEGO Group for children’s Halloween costumes, role play, and accessories based on popular LEGO characters. The multi-year, multi-category agreement grants Disguise rights to distribute its LEGO licensed products across North America, Europe, Korea, and China.

Disney’s Frozen Named Overall Best Licensed Program at LIMA Licensing Awards

May27LIMA(2)Disney’s Frozen won the award for Overall Best Licensed Program at the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association‘s  (LIMA) annual International Licensing Awards held at this year’s Licensing Expo in Las Vegas. Frozen also won in the Film, Television, or Entertainment (Animated) Program category, and Kohl’s Department stores received the Retailer of the Year award for its in-store presentation of Frozen.

Jakks Pacific’s Snow Glow Elsa Doll and Playmates Toys’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles product line tied for the win in the Film, Television, and Entertainment (Animated) Licensee: Hard Goods category; Hasbro’s My Little Pony won for best Character or Toy Brand Program; HGTV Home, Scripps Networks/Beanstalk won for best Corporate Brand Program; and Jazwares’ Minecraft Overworld Series #2 toys won for best Digital Licensee.
