Cryptozoic, Cartoon Network to Release Rick and Morty: Anatomy Park — The Game Next Month

RickAndMortyCryptozoic Entertainment will release Rick and Morty: Anatomy Park — The Game, which will be available at retailers nationwide on July 12. The game is based on the “Anatomy Park” episode of Adult Swim’s animated series Rick and Morty.

In Rick and Morty: Anatomy Park — The Game, players become characters from the episode as they try to build Anatomy Park. The game sends players into the body of Ruben, a homeless man, in order to save the microscopic amusement park built from his organs. Players attempt to score the most Victory Points by the end of the game.

Rovio’s Angry Birds Evolution Now Available for Download

AngryBirdsEvolutionRovio Entertainment’s new Angry Birds Evolution puts a spin on the Angry Birds brand, featuring eastern-style RPG mechanics and console quality graphics. The reimagined and redesigned birds let players collect, train, and evolve them.

Rovio, in co-operation with Chimera Entertainment, created more than 100 new birds with multiple evolution states, some modeled after 80s action characters and comic book heroes.

The game is now available to download for free on the App Store and Google Play.

Hasbro, Harmonix Reveal Additional Songs for DropMix Music-Mixing Game

DropMixBoardHasbro Inc. revealed ten new songs and Party Mode for the upcoming music-mixing game DropMix from Hasbro and video game developer Harmonix Music Systems Inc. First announced in March, the DropMix game features multiple game modes, including Clash Mode and Party Mode that allows players to create unique mixes of songs by playing cards on a game board connected to a mobile app. The DropMix game will be available this fall.

Unlike Clash Mode, which pits two teams against each other as they battle to master the mix, players in Party Mode work together to quickly fulfill crowd requests coming from the DropMix app. Read the rest of this entry »

WildWorks Appoints Eximtrading S.A. as Licensing Agent for Animal Jams

animaljamWildWorks appointed Eximtrading S.A. as the company’s first licensing agent signee to represent Animal Jam consumer products and promotions in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

Eximtrading S.A. will work directly with Peeko, which handles the worldwide licensing rights for the brand, to bring partners on board to enhance the Animal Jam experience with new products for kids.

Bungie to Expand Destiny 2 Merchandising Program

Destiny2Bungie, in collaboration with Activision, will add to the Destiny 2 brand with new licensing partners for its merchandising program.

Candlewick Entertainment to Debut Book Series Based on Educational Insights Games

SneakySnackySquirrelGameCandlewick Entertainment, an imprint of Candlewick Press, acquired world rights in all languages to a series of books based on games from Educational Insights. This marks the debut of a licensing program for Educational Insights.

The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel will be the first title and feature a lift-the-flap board book, which will be published this summer in the U.S. and Canada by Candlewick Entertainment and in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand by Walker Entertainment. This tree-shaped board book explores counting and color concepts.

 

Moose Toys Launches Disney Crossy Road Merchandise

71003 DCR Mystery HangerMoose Toys announced plans for its new toy line based on the mobile game Disney Crossy Road. In the game, players hop, dodge, and slide their way through busy lanes of traffic. Since its launch a year ago, it has been downloaded more than 31 million times.

The initial collection from Moose Toys will feature Disney and Pixar characters from the app including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Buzz Lightyear, Simba, Baymax, and more. The line will include collectible micro figures, backpack hangers, and plush, and will be available at select retailers beginning April 1.

Rovio Entertainment and Mikael Hed Honored with Hulda Award for The Angry Birds Movie

angry birdsRovio Entertainment and Mikael Hed, executive producer of The Angry Birds Movie, received the Finnish Audiovisual Export Award Hulda. The award is presented annually by Audiovisual Finland and honors excellence in creative industry export.

The Angry Birds Movie is the most internationally successful Finnish film of all time and is also the second highest-grossing movie based on a game. The award was presented by Finland’s minister of economic affairs Mika Lintilä at the annual Finnish film industry event Jussi Gaala, which took place last Friday.
