Rube Goldberg activity sets let kids can design, build, and create unique inventions at home. The sets teach STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math)-based principles, such as gravity, simple machines, physics, chain reactions, and more. The new line will include eight modular activity sets that can be collected and connected to each other in different ways. With each additional set, the end result gets bigger and more complex. This challenges kids to use essential STEM skills in order to complete the device.
The licensing partnership and retail program were brokered by Rube Goldberg’s exclusive licensing agency, Brand Central LLC.
Nature Cat has posted strong ratings since it debuted in a competitive and crowded category. What about this show is allowing it to stand out from other educational preschool fare?
We think our animation style helps us stand out visually, and when you combine that with the level of humor and the amount of action/adventure, you get an engaging, smart, and fun-filled series. Each episode of Nature Cat features two 11-minute stories, as well as interstitials. The show airs twice daily on PBS stations across the country and features the vocal talents of Saturday Night Live veterans Taran Killam (Nature Cat), Kate McKinnon (Squeeks), Bobby Moynihan (Hal), Chris Parnell and Kenan Thompson, along with actress Kate Micucci (Daisy). The series follows the adventures of Nature Cat and his friends. In each episode, Nature Cat can’t wait to get outside for a day of nature excursions and bravery, but there’s one problem: he’s a house cat with no instincts for nature. With the help of his animal friends, Nature Cat embarks on action-packed adventures that include exciting missions full of investigation, “aha” discovery moments, and humor, all while inspiring children to go outside and play. We’ve been honored to receive a coveted 2016 Daytime Emmy Award Nomination for Outstanding Writing in an Animated Program, a Television Critics Association Award Nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programming, and a Common Sense Media Seal for TV, recognizing the series for providing families an exceptional media experience.
