Rockpool Licensing will manage preschool properties, including Splash and Bubbles, Doozers, and Dot. Additionally, all past episodes of Dot. will stream exclusively on Hulu. Rockpool Licensing will also manage classic properties including, Fraggle Rock and Labyrinth.

Jim Henson’s Animated Preschool Series Doozesr Renewed for Season Two

DoozersThe Jim Henson Co.’s Doozers was renewed for season two on Hulu. The animated series for preschoolers features characters from the classic Henson series, Fraggle Rock.

 Doozers encourages kids to create and innovate with The Pod Squad, as they bounce from one fabulous adventure to the next in Doozer Creek. Preschoolers will learn about design thinking, ways to make eco-friendly choices, and an understanding of how things work. Doozers Debuts on Germany’s KiKa, New Partners Signed

DoozersThe Jim Henson Company’s CG-animated preschool series Doozers recently commenced broadcast on Germany’s KiKa coinciding with the signing of additional new media partners for the series.

The UK’s Video On Demand 365 Ltd. (VOD 365) has acquired subscription VOD rights to the series and Letson Corporation Ltd. has acquired ad-supported VOD rights for Russia.

The Doozers is a co-production of The Jim Henson Company and DHX Media. The series celebrates the spirit of being an innovator, and inspires all kids to have an “I can do it” attitude.

Jim Henson Company Appoints Federico San Martin As Vice President, Global Consumer Products

FedericoSanMartinHeadshotFederico San Martin joins The Jim Henson Company as vice president of global consumer products. The announcement was made on June 2 by Peter Schube, the company’s president and COO, to whom San Martin will report. In his new role, San Martin will oversee licensing activities for the company’s children’s brands, including Dinosaur Train, Sid the Science Kid, and Doozers. He will also spearhead programs for new properties, and manage licensing for the company’s Henson Independent Properties (HIP) brands.

San Martin joins The Jim Henson Company from DreamWorks Studios where he served as head of global toys. In his past position, San Martin successfully developed the retail programs for properties such as How to Train Your Dragon, and created strategies for the DreamWorks and classic media portfolios. Prior to his role at DreamWorks, San Martin managed more than 60 licensees at Warner Bros. Consumer Products where he executed cross-promotional initiatives, gaining extensive experience in the Latin American licensing market. He has also held various roles at Mattel and Pop Rocket.

New Branding Partnerships for KidQuest Learning App

KidQuest has partnered with four new children’s brands: Garfield, Jim Henson’s Doozers, Peep and the Big Wide World, and Fetch! With Ruff Ruffman. This represents the launch of KidQuest’s Partner Program, which provides brands with a way to connect with families through activities featuring their original characters.

The free iOS app is designed to help parents find the perfect activity based on the age of their child and time available, and then guide the process with animated step-by-step instructions. It includes dozens of educational crafts, experiments, and activities. Premium content packs are available as purchased add-ons to extend the library of free content.

Simon & Schuster to Create Doozers Book Line

Oct3.SimonSchusterThe Jim Henson Co. has announced a publishing agreement with Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing to create a line of books based on Doozers—an animated preschool series inspired the characters from the company’s classic series Fraggle Rock.

The first two Doozers books will be available as paperbacks, library editions, and e-books next fall, with additional titles to debut in 2016.

Doozers to Debut at MIPJunior 2012

The Jim Henson Company has made the first international sale of its preschool CG-animated series DOOZERS, a co-production with DHX Media, to Turner Broadcasting in EMEA. The new series, consisting of 52 11-minute episodes, will air in most territories across Europe, the Middle East and Africa on Turner Broadcasting’s preschool channel, Cartoonito, beginning in fall of next year. The announcement was made today by Richard Goldsmith, Executive Vice President of Global Distribution, The Jim Henson Company, and Cecilia Persson, Vice President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions, EMEA, Turner Broadcasting.

The DOOZERS series will be unveiled to the global broadcast community at MIPJunior.

The DOOZERS are three inches tall, green, and live in communities (just beyond the view of humans) all around the world! This new animated series focuses on Doozer Creek, a Doozer community that is a high-tech enchanted forest melding nature with innovation. It’s a self-sustaining community, in harmony with nature, generating zero waste, and green.

In every eleven-minute episode of DOOZERS, viewers follow the adventures of four new Doozer kid characters: Spike, Mollybolt, Flex, and Daisy Wheel. Together they make up the bright, bold, and fun “Pod Squad” who share a passion for inventing. With their different personalities and skills, the four Doozer friends make a most exceptional and productive team when it comes to adventure and fun. Playing gets their minds and bodies creating, imagining, brainstorming and building! Each episode of this groundbreaking series incorporates concepts that enhance creative thinking abilities, physical skills and knowledge of tools and materials.

The original DOOZERS were first introduced to television audiences through Fraggle Rock, which aired from 1983 to 1987 in the U.S. on HBO. That series garnered several awards including the 1983 International Emmy Award and a 1987 CableACE Award and currently airs in the U.S. on the Hub. In the international market, Fraggle Rock aired in more than 80 countries around the world including the UK, France Germany, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, The Netherlands, Poland, Turkey and Russia.
