Disguise Partners with Moose Toys for New Shopkins Costumes

ShopkinsLogoDisguise Inc., the Halloween costume division of Jakks Pacific Inc., has secured a licensing agreement with Moose Toys to create costumes and dress-up based on its collectible franchise, Shopkins. The news follows yesterday’s announcement that Disguise had secured a similar agreement with the LEGO Group.

The multi-year, multi-category agreement grants Disguise the rights to distribute Shopkins-licensed products across channels in North America. The deal was brokered by The Licensing Shop Inc.

“Shopkins is an incredible collectible phenomenon, and we are excited to be a part of the magic with our costumes,” says Joe Anton, the president of Disguise Inc. “Children love these tiny characters, and we look forward to bringing them to life in a fun and authentic way that will resonate with fans.”

The Shopkins costumes from Disguise, as well as dress-up items and accessories, will be at retailers next fall.

Disguise and The LEGO Group to Build New Line of Costumes

Marvel Launches Assortment of Products Inspired by Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel Entertainment and Disney Consumer Products unveiled an action-packed product collection to celebrate Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Hasbro, Lego, Disguise, and more have teamed up for an assortment of action figures, plush, playsets, role-play, costumes, and 80s nostalgia lifestyle products that leverage the unique storytelling in the new Marvel franchise. These products are available now at national retailers, specialty stores, the Marvel website, and The Disney Store.

Marvel Launches Collection Inspired by Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel Entertainment, in conjunction with Disney Consumer Products, has unveiled a product collection to celebrate the new film, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Licensees for the products include Hasbro, Lego, Disguise, Hot Wheels, Her Universe, Café Press, Mad Engine, Just Play, KidDesigns, Rubie’s, C-Life, Jay Franco, and the Disney Store. Products in the line include action figures, plush, play sets, role play, costumes, and ’80s nostalgia-inspired lifestyle products.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy products are available now at national retailers, specialty stores, Marvel.com, Disney store locations nationwide, and DisneyStore.com. The movie opens in theaters on August 1.

Disguise Will Launch New Line for Fall

july30.disguiseJakks Pacific’s costume division, Disguise, has renewed and expanded agreements to produce Halloween costumes this fall.

The agreement spans multiple companies, including American Greeting Properties (Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake), Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products (The Simpsons and Family Guy), and Warner Bros. Consumer Products (Austin Powers).

All costumes will be available for Halloween, with the exception of Strawberry Shortcake, which will hit stores for the fall 2015 season.

Guardians of the Galaxy Set to Launch into Retail Ahead of Theatrical Release

Licensees and retailers are preparing for high fan demand for merchandise inspired by Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy in anticipation of the upcoming movie. Retailers have developed a wide range of product lines with over 50 licensees that are attracting strong placement and pre-sales across mass, mid-tier, specialty, and online retail channels. Products are set to start launching in mid-June. In addition, Marvel Studio’s marketing for the merchandising program will hit full force beginning in late-June.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is an action-packed, space adventure where adventurer Peter Quill is the center of a bounty hunt after he stole a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions to threaten the universe. Quill forms a truce with Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Gamora, and Drax to evade Ronan and must participate in a final showdown to restore balance in the galaxy.

The upcoming movie is unique to any others in the Marvel franchise, which had made it appealing to manufacturers and consumers.  Rocket Raccoon will distinguish himself as a breakout character, which has made him popular for licensees to keep up with the anticipated demand for Rocket inspired products.  In addition, Star-Lord’s obsession with the 80’s has created a platform for a wide range of 80’s nostalgia apparel and accessories. Manufacturers are also focusing on Drax and Gamora, who have become popular with male and female demographics.

Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Product Line Expands, Enters New Retailers

March31.DanielTigerThe Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood product line will include more products and enter major retail chains after its successful 2013 holiday season at Toys “R” Us stores nationwide and online at Toysrus.com. Jakks Pacific will expand the brand’s range of toys to categories such as books and costumes to major retailers. 

Kmart and Target will introduce a selection of licensed merchandise and Amazon will sell a range of goods. Barnes & Noble will launch a full line of books from Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing under Simon Spotlight. Five book titles in different formats hit the shelves in January. Additional books will be released this summer and fall by popular demand. The books are based on episodes from the show. 

Disguise, an expanded range of toys from Jakks Pacific, will introduce costumes for the brand. University Games will offer puzzles and games such as the Colorform Deluxe Playset. In addition, Daniel Tiger Neighborhood products will be introduced to Canadian retailers for the first time.

More categories and licensees will be announced soon. The award-winning show airs daily on PBS Kids and has been a top-10 rated show since its launch in 2012.
