Peanuts Worldwide, Cedar Fair Extend Peanuts Licensing Agreement

PeanutsPeanuts Worldwide, a subsidiary controlled by DHX Media Ltd., and Cedar Fair L.P. renewed the license agreement to feature the Peanuts characters—created by Charles M. Schulz—throughout Cedar Fair’s 11 amusement park locations. The new agreement extends Cedar Fair’s North American exclusive use of Peanuts in its attractions, entertainment and sports, food and beverage, lodging, and retail operations to 2025. An added five-year option, exercisable at Cedar Fair’s discretion, brings the potential contract extension to 2030.

 

Teletubbies Returns to German TV on KiKa

teletubbiescarDHX Media  signed an exclusive deal with ZDF to launch season one of its new Teletubbies series on children’s channel KiKA in Germany. The launch builds on the original version of the preschool series that first aired in Germany in 1999.

The global licensing program for the new Teletubbies series is growing rapidly, with more than 85 partners signed to date. The series follows the same four characters and styling as the original show, but brings a contemporary look and feel to the preschool properties. The series has been picked up by 24 broadcasters worldwide, as well as Amazon Prime Video in the U.K., where the commissioning broadcaster is CBeebies.

 

DHX Brands Appoints New Licensees for Teletubbies Across North America

DHXMEdia_TeletubbiesDHX Brands Built Games, a video game developer and publisher, as part of nine new Teletubbies consumer products deals brokered via CPLG North America.

This spring, Built Games will launch Teletubbies Play Time, an interactive mobile app for kids that will help promote early learning, while engaging users and developing their senses and motor skills. DHX Media Licenses Broadcast Rights for Teletubbies Season Two on Nick Jr.

teletubbiescarDHX Media licensed exclusive U.S. broadcast rights for 30 brand-new half-hour episodes of Teletubbies. The new season will air on Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr. preschool channel this year.

CJ E&M’s Animated Series Rainbow Ruby Secures Global Media Partners

rainbowrubyRainbow Ruby, CJ E&M’s first global original animated series, will expand media partners globally. The series will launch in South Korea in the first quarter of 2017, with EBS and Tooniverse channels secured. The series currently airs on Tooniverse (Asia), RTV (Indonesia), Thai PBS (Thailand), and Yoyo TV (Taiwan). Additional channels are expected to air the series within the year.

DHX Media Adds New Twirlywoos Episodes

TwirlywoosDHX Media announced that UK broadcaster CBeebies commissioned new episodes of the preschool series Twirlywoos.

DHX Media also signed international broadcast deals for the first 50 episodes of the TV series. Episodes will launch on NOGGIN in the US, ABC Australia, Télémagino and SRC in Canada, TVE Clan in Spain, JimJam Benelux, VRT in Belgium, MBC and E-Junior in the Middle East, Minika Turkey, TVB in Hong Kong and OKTO in Singapore. Previously announced broadcast deals for the first 50 episodes include Family Jr. Canada, Gulli France, SVT Sweden, YLE Finland, NRK Norway, HRT Croatia, and Hop! Israel.

 

 

 

DHX Media Licenses Kids’ Series to Amazon Prime in the UK and Germany

teletubbiesDHX Media will grow the digital presence of its shows in the UK and Germany after a deal with Amazon Prime Video, which will offer more than three dozen DHX Media kids’ shows to its subscribers.

Amazon Prime Video in the UK has licensed a number of titles, including season one of each of the new Teletubbies, Messy Goes to Okido, and Looped; seasons one and two of Hank Zipzer; season three of In the Night Garden; and seasons four and five of Caillou.

Technicolor, DHX Media Sign BBC UK to Broadcast The Deep

Technicolor and DHX Media Ltd. have finalized an agreement with the UK’s BBC to air The Deep on CBBC this March.

CBBC joins The Seven Network and ABC3 in Australia, Super RTL in Germany, Ketnet in Belgium, NRK in Norway, SVT in Sweden, YLE in Finland, and Family CHRGD in Canada as a broadcasting partner.

DHX Media Announces New Licensing Partners Ahead of Teletubbies Release

Dec11.TeletubbiesDHX Media Ltd. has appointed eight new UK licensing partners for the Teletubbies series.

New licensees secured include Worlds Apart for furniture and accessories, Aykroyds for nightwear and underwear, Character World for bedding, Amscan for party goods, Bon Bon Buddies for confectionary, Posh Paws for bags, GB Eye for posters, and Zak UK for melamine tableware.

Licensees are expected to launch consumer products in the UK in 2016, with other territories to follow.
