Bobby Abley Launches Teletubbies Collection at London Fashion Week Men’s

teletubbylineCopyright Promotions Licensing Group has brokered a deal, on behalf of DHX Brands, with UK menswear designer Bobby Abley to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Teletubbies.

Bobby Abley has created a Teletubbies-themed capsule range as part of his spring and summer collection for next year. The collection was unveiled during his catwalk show at London Fashion Week Men’s.

The line includes daywear and loungewear pieces, with a few womenswear additions. The collection features designs inspired by 90s nostalgia and incorporates the fun and colorful nature of the characters.

DHX Brands Boosts UK Team With Four Key Hires

DHX Brands has appointed four new team members in its London office. Debbie Walker was appointed as brand manager, Cheryl Brock joins in as design manager in the creative services team, Alessia Foster takes the position of head of product development, with Holly Taylor joining her as product development manager.

Walker will lead brand and marketing initiatives in the UK for preschool properties Twirlywoos and In the Night Garden. Having worked in roles across Mattel, FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment and Trinity Films, Walker has experience in kids’ and family brand marketing, public relations, and creative communications.

Brock will help maintain a growing DHX Brands portfolio and launch new titles. Her background spans licensing design for both product and graphics across a range of properties. Previously, she worked for brands, such as Thomas and Friends, The Simpsons, Hello Kitty, and My Little Pony

Establishing a dedicated DHX Brands product development team, Foster brings in international experience of leading the development of products through licensing, live events, and attractions programs. Taylor joins the team with a focus on apparel and soft lines development. Most recently, she worked for Disney on their apparel development for major retailers in the UK.

Spin Master Appointed to Distribute Teletubbies Toys

June4.TeletubbiesDHX Brands, the brand management and consumer products arm of DHX Media, has appointed Spin Master to distribute the upcoming range of Teletubbies toys in the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, and Benelux. The deal, which sees Spin Master distributing the plush, plastics, and bath toys from Teletubbies master toy licensee Character Options, was negotiated on behalf of DHX Brands by CPLG. The Teletubbies toy range is set to debut next year, following the launch of the show on UK commissioning channel CBeebies.

The new 60-episode series of Teletubbies has been commissioned by the UK’s CBeebies and is being produced for DHX Media by UK production company, Darrall Macqueen Ltd. It will feature the same characters but with a refreshed, contemporary look.

Caillou Gears Up for 25th Anniversary Celebrations

Caillou will celebrate its 25th anniversary over the next year. The brand debuted in 1989 as a series of books from Chouette Publishing, and is now an animated series on preschool TV channel Sprout in the U.S.

Fans can sign up for the Caillou ultimate sweepstakes on Facebook for a chance to win Caillou products and to learn more about the ongoing promotions in Caillou’s 25th anniversary year.

New Caillou products include Caillou Family Favorites DVD and book, from PBS; Caillou’s Holiday Movie, from NCircle; Caillou’s 25th Anniversary Treasury Album, from Chouette Publishing; and a Caillou talking doll and a jet plane, from Imports Dragon.

Caillou merchandise and licensing is represented by CPLG. The series is sold to more than 100 countries worldwide. DHX Brands plans a year-long series of consumer product releases, partnerships, sweepstakes, and events to celebrate the milestone through next year.
