Nelvana, Sumitomo Corp. to Create Anime Children’s Content

Nelvana_LogoCorus Entertainment’s Nelvana and Sumitomo Corp. will develop and co-produce original anime properties.

To support the project, Sumitomo acquired the services of Toky’s content creation company, Zeroichi Ltd. to help produce an original anime and toy concept. Zeroichi president Shigeki Fujiwara was involved in the creation of the Beyblade, B-daman, Aikatsu, and Majinbone brands. Nelvana and Sumitomo will work with Zeroichi to create an original anime property to bring to market in North America.

 

 

Nelvana, Chouette Publishing Partner for Ranger Rob Books

RangerRobNelvana entered a publishing deal with Chouette Publishing for a collection based on the original preschool adventure series Ranger Rob. The books will launch next April in Canada and the U.S., with both English and French rights.

The launch will feature the release of two titles: A Campfire Story and Nature Quest. Chouette Publishing will also add storybooks, readers, and novelty formats to its Ranger Rob portfolio beginning next fall. Read the rest of this entry »

Nelvana, Sprout Enter Broadcast Deal to Bring Ranger Rob TV Series to the U.S.

RangerRobCorus Entertainment’s Nelvana entered a broadcast deal with Sprout to bring its original series Ranger Rob to the U.S. The animated series’ first and second seasons began airing in July on Sprout.

Ranger Rob follows ranger-in-training Rob around the Big Sky Park as he ziplines, swings, and snowboards, discovering and exploring all that the park has to offer. Nelvana Launches Digital Media Strategy for Mysticons


MysticonsCorus Entertainment’s Nelvana will launch the YouTube channel and social media pages for its original animated action series, Mysticons.
In anticipation to the upcoming premiere, the Mysticons YouTube channel and social pages are now live, with a website to launch shortly. Fans can watch a preview of the series online before the TV premiere in the U.S. and in Canada next month.
The online presence is part of a social and digital media content strategy involving more than 80 pieces of short-form original content supporting the brand, including introductions to stories and settings from Mysticons, DIY videos, and ive-action content that will be available to fans throughout the season. In addition, web games and an adventure role-play app will launch this fall.

Ranger Rob Series Renewed for Second Season, New Toy Line Set for Release

RangerRobRanger Rob, an animated series from Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana, has been renewed for a second season. The season is set to include 14 new episodes.

The series was ranked No. 1 for boys ages 2-11 on Corus’ Treehouse network in Canada during the fall 2016 season. Its rankings are also high in other territories, such as TF1 in France, Super RTL in Germany, Disney Channel in Australia, Nickelodeon in Italy, Canal Panda Portugal, YLE/TV2 Finland, and HOP Israel.

Nelvana, Discovery Kids Extend Broadcast for The ZhuZhus in Latin America and the Caribbean

Nelvana Expands Shopkins Brand

Nelvana will introduce Shopkins merchandise to Russian consumers via Megalicense International, a recent sub-agent for the brand in Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Ukraine, and the Baltic nations of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. New licensees for Russia include AST Origami for board games and arts and crafts; AST Publishing for magazines; Perfetti for chocolate balls; Tarna Rosman for plush, party goods, art and crafts, and stationery; and Unitoys for card games.
