Beginning this spring, Make It Real will manufacture and distribute a line of fashion design and watercolor sketchbooks made for kids ages 6 to 12. Each product comes with a full design style guide, dozens of sketch pages, stickers, stencils, instructions, and inspirations. The line will feature Mickey and Minnie, as well as characters from Disney Frozen, Elena of Avalor, and the Descendants.
Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Enterprises, the sales, brand-management and consumer products division of Nelvana, has extended the reach of its fast-growing Shopkins licensing program to fans in Russia, the Middle East, and Scandinavia through a range of new partnerships.
Nelvana will introduce Shopkins merchandise to Russian consumers via Megalicense International, a recent sub-agent for the brand in Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Ukraine, and the Baltic nations of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. New licensees for Russia include AST Origami for board games and arts and crafts; AST Publishing for magazines; Perfetti for chocolate balls; Tarna Rosman for plush, party goods, art and crafts, and stationery; and Unitoys for card games. Jakks Pacific Inc. signed a manufacturing and distribution agreement with Cra-Z-Art, a division of LaRose Industries LLC, for its Blo-Pens brand of products. The multi-year distribution agreement allows Cra-Z-Art to market, sell, and distribute the branded line of craft and activity airbrushed markers in the U.S. and Latin America. In Spain, Miraculous Ladybug toys from Bandai sold out during the holiday season and all licensing categories are now covered. Top deals include Panini for stickers, sticker albums, and the official magazine; a perfume line from Air-Val; books from Planeta; board games from Educa Borrás; back-to-school products from Safta; and arts and crafts from Cife. Digital entertainment company WildWorks partnered with newly launched toy company Make It Real to bring licensed Animal Jam crafts, stationery, and cosmetics to North America.
Since its start in 2010, Animal Jam has grown to more than 60 million registered users from more than 200 countries. In partnership with National Geographic, Animal Jam provides kids with fun, educational content about animals and the natural world.

Discovery Consumer Products entered two new deals to create lines of branded toys, puzzles, and craft sets based on the Animal Planet themes of dinosaurs, ocean, and land. Smart Play LLC and MasterPieces Puzzle Co. will create products to encourage exploration of the animal kingdom and fuel imagination.
Smart Play will develop educational toys designed for kids ages 2 to 8, including 3-D flashcards and puzzles, puzzle cubes, alphabet floor puzzles, a lighted click-and-see toy projector, and an electronic learning pad. MasterPieces Puzzle Co. will develop a line of puzzles and craft sets, including 3-D puzzles with a paint component and wooden craft kits, depicting Animal Planet and Shark Week themes.
The new items from MasterPieces and Smart Play will be available next year.
