Gaumont to Develop Usagi Yojimbo TV Series

Gaumont_UsagiYojimboGaumont optioned the comic book series Usagi Yojimbo to be developed into an animated TV series. First published in 1984 by creator, writer, and illustrator Stan Sakai, Usagi Yojimbo will be co-produced by Gaumont, Sakai, Atomic Monster, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg. RainbowRangersGenius Brands International Inc. signed new deals for the global consumer products’ program for its new preschool brand Rainbow Rangers.

New partners include Global Brand Group’s American Marketing Enterprises for sleepwear; GBG Socks dba Planet Sox for socks and legwear; Dynacraft for bikes, trikes, scooters, and wagons; Kiddieland for foot-to-floor ride-ons; Kittrich/inkology for floor décor, stationary, and school supplies; and Kid Galaxy for bubble toys. Alpha Group Appointed Master Toy Partner for SpongeBob SquarePants

AlphaGroup_SpongeBobAlpha Group LLC, a subsidiary of The Alpha Group, and Nickelodeon entered a master toy partnership for SpongeBob SquarePants. The new product line will include toys, collectibles, plush, and novelties, and will debut worldwide in 2019.

In the coming months, Alpha Group will introduce a product program for the brand that will engage today’s kids and the millennials who grew up with the character.

Nelvana, Sumitomo Corp. to Create Anime Children’s Content

Nelvana_LogoCorus Entertainment’s Nelvana and Sumitomo Corp. will develop and co-produce original anime properties.

To support the project, Sumitomo acquired the services of Toky’s content creation company, Zeroichi Ltd. to help produce an original anime and toy concept. Zeroichi president Shigeki Fujiwara was involved in the creation of the Beyblade, B-daman, Aikatsu, and Majinbone brands. Nelvana and Sumitomo will work with Zeroichi to create an original anime property to bring to market in North America.

 

 

Masha and the Bear Season Three to Air on Cartoon Network Latin America

MashaAndTheBearAnimaccord, the right holder of Masha and the Bear, continues to roll out the brand worldwide. The recent deal with Turner’s Cartoon Network will bring the third season of Masha and the Bear to Latin America. The episodes will be available in all 26 countries of Latin America during weekdays. Nelvana Greenlights New Animated Comedy Series D.N.Ace

Nelvana_DNAceNelvana’s original animated comedy adventure series D.N.Ace has been greenlit to start production. The series is created and executive produced by Matthew Wexler.

D.N.Ace will air on the Teletoon Network in Canada and will target kids ages 6 to 9. Each episode will be 2 by 11 minutes, with a total of 80 episodes. Dentsu and OLM will represent the series in Japan and will consult throughout the production process. Read the rest of this entry »

The Jim Henson Co. to Develop Series Based on IAmElemental Female Action Figures

The Jim Henson CompanyThe Jim Henson Co. will develop a new animated kid’s TV series based on the female action figures by IAmElemental.  The series will target kids ages 6 to 12 and The Jim Henson Co.’s Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford will serve as executive producers.

IAmElemental female action figures are based on the qualities of the Greek mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher, Hypatia. The figures act as inspiring models for kids, and feature members including, Creativity, Ingenuity, Curiosity, Logic, Exploration, Mastery, and Oblivion. 9 Story Secures Multiple Sales for Animated Series 3 Amigonauts

9Story_3Amigonauts9 Story Media Group secured multiple international sales for the animated comedy 3 Amigonauts. New licenses include Sony Pictures Television Networks (UK, Italy and Sub Saharan Africa), Canal+ (French-speaking Europe and Africa), RTP (Portugal), Disney (CEE), DKids (MENA), and Zoom (Israel).
