Genius Brands International Inc. licensed exclusive broadcast rights for season one of Rainbow Rangers to Nickelodeon in the U.S. and Caribbean. Currently in development, the mission-based action adventure series is expected to air on Nickelodeon’s preschool channel, Nick Jr. The deal follows the recent announcement of Fisher-Price Toys as global master toy partner for the brand. Cartoon Network recently announced plans for the summer release of the digital album Steven Universe Soundtrack: Volume 1, a collection of music from the TV series. Available globally on June 2, 2017, the soundtrack will feature songs originally heard in the series’ episodes, including the theme song, “We Are the Crystal Gems.”
The digital album features a roster of re-mastered songs performed by the series voice cast, including Zach Callison (Steven), Estelle (Garnet), Deedee Magno Hall (Pearl), Michaela Dietz (Amethyst) and Tom Scharpling (Greg). Read the rest of this entry »
DHX Media signed a deal with Cartoon Network U.S. for Mega Man, an original DHX Media co-production with Dentsu Entertainment USA Inc. The series was also picked up by DHX Media’s Family CHRGD for Canada. Based on the Capcom Mega Man video game franchise, the 3-D animated series goes into production this summer at DHX Media’s Vancouver studio. Building on the success of its first three seasons on YouTube and other digital platforms, Nelvana announced at MIPTV the next phase of production on Season 4 of Bravest Warriors, the series’ first run on television. The new season is being produced in association with Frederator Studios for multiple platforms, including linear with complementary digital content. Produced by Nelvana Limited in Canada, the fourth season will premiere on Teletoon next fall. The Japanese anime TV series Doraemon will extend its story into Europe. Global licensing company CPLG, on behalf of VIZ Media Europe, will develop a licensing program for the series in Italy.
Since its launch in 1969, Doraemon has been one of Japan’s most popular multimedia franchises. In Italy, the TV series first aired on Mediaset 10 years ago before moving to kid’s broadcaster Italy Boing where it is one of the top rated shows on the channel. Read the rest of this entry »

Studio 100 Media closed an agreement with AMC Networks International – Central Europe (AMCNI CE), which will bring Studio 100 Media’s Nils Holgersson and The Wild Adventures of Blinky Bill to territories across Eastern Europe including Hungary, Romania, Moldova, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ex-Yugoslavia including Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Croatia, and Slovenia.AMCNI CE acquired the exclusive rights to distribute the shows via cable, satellite, and terrestrial television. Both shows will be completed this summer and will premiere on Minimax this June.
Boat Rocker and Industrial Brothers named Fisher-Price master toy partner for the new original series Kingdom Force.
Kingdom Force was created by Industrial Brothers’ Matt Fernandes and will be co-produced by Industrial Brothers and Boat Rocker Studios. Boat Rocker will distribute the series internationally and manage the merchandising and licensing for the brand on all platforms, as well as leading the digital and brand initiatives. 9 Story Distribution International acquired three children’s series for international distribution. The acquisitions include Vivi, Ruby’s Studio, and short series My Friend Bubbles. 9 Story plans to showcase each series at MipTV.
Acquired from Brazilian-based Mixer Films, Vivi follows seven year old Vivi and her friends, Backpack and Flashy, as they embark on magical journeys to fantastic new places while learning something about the world and ultimately themselves. 9 Story Distribution International acquired all international rights to the 26 x 11 minute series, excluding Latin America, where the series is set to air on Discovery Kids.
