Body Glove Signs New Deals for Pet Products

Body GloveBody Glove International, a water sports and outdoor activities brand, has signed licensing deals with Plangea Inc. for design, manufacture, marketing, and distribution rights to the Body Glove property.

Plangea will launch a Body Glove Pet products line of pet floatation devices, leashes, bowls, carriers, apparel, and toys. Many of the products will utilize Body Glove’s signature material, neoprene, in the design as well. The products will be available for retail at specialty pet product stores across the U.S. as well as online at Amazon.com. Distribution will further expand to larger pet retail chains next year.

New Cookbook TLC Kitchen Launches Today

DHX Media Acquires Cookie Jar Entertainment

DHX Media has acquired Cookie Jar entertainment creating Canada’s largest independent children’s entertainment company. The deal will be completed in mid-October. The combined company will own more than 8,550 half hours of programming, with properties including Yo Gabba Gabba!, Rastamouse, Franny’s Feet, Animal Mechanicals,  Kid vs. Kat, Angela Anaconda, Martha Speaks, as well as Caillou, Inspector Gadget, Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, The Doodlebops, and Johnny Test.

The deal also significantly strengthens DHX’s capabilities in the growing digital segment, and broadens its relationships with distributors including Amazon, Comcast, DISH, Hulu, Netflix, Samsung, Telmex, and Vivendi.

There’s already one winner today

MediaBistro’s GalleyCat blog is reporting that Amazon.com’s stock has hit record heights on Cyber Monday. See, everything is fine! Or good enough. But seriously, this may lend some credence to the “It rained in the Northeast, and that’s why Black Friday sales were relatively low” theory. Obviously we’ll know more tomorrow, but this is a good sign.
