The Jim Henson Co. to Develop Series Based on IAmElemental Female Action Figures

The Jim Henson CompanyThe Jim Henson Co. will develop a new animated kid’s TV series based on the female action figures by IAmElemental.  The series will target kids ages 6 to 12 and The Jim Henson Co.’s Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford will serve as executive producers.

IAmElemental female action figures are based on the qualities of the Greek mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher, Hypatia. The figures act as inspiring models for kids, and feature members including, Creativity, Ingenuity, Curiosity, Logic, Exploration, Mastery, and Oblivion. NECA, LAIKA to Partner to Produce Multi-Category Range of Merchandise

NECALogoThe National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA) signed a deal to produce a multi-category lineup of merchandise with animation studio LAIKA. NECA debuted an exclusive Coraline in a Deluxe Display Box at San Diego Comic-Con. The deal was brokered by licensing agency Striker Entertainment, which represents the rights to the LAIKA library of legacy and future films.

The deal with NECA coincides with LAIKA’s pop-up exhibit The LAIKA Experience, which was open in San Diego through July 23rd. The exhibit featured props, puppets, monsters, and sets from LAIKA’s award-winning films as well as fan art, photo ops with LAIKA’s costumed characters, daily drawings for a pair of Nike’s LAIKA-themed shoes designed by Tinker Hatfield, social media activations, giveaways, and more. Jakks Pacific Appointed as Master Toy Licensee for Mega Man

Jakks_MegaManDHX Brands and Dentsu Entertainment USA appointed Jakks Pacific Inc. as worldwide master toy licensee—excluding Asia—for their co-produced animated series Mega Man. The deal brokered by CPLG North America.

The Jim Henson Co., McFarlane Toys Partner for Figures Inspired by Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal

McFarlaneToys_Henson_JarethThe Jim Henson Co. partnered with McFarlane Toys to create figures based on characters from two of Henson’s features, Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal.

McFarlane Toys will produce fully-articulated action figures that are replicas of their on-screen personas. The toys will feature a 7-inch figure of Labyrinth’s Jareth the Goblin King, as well as Jen and Kira figures inspired by their The Dark Crystal characters. These figures will also debut in new window box collector packaging and come with Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal branded bases.

Jareth the Goblin King figure will be available at major retailers this November, and Jen and Kira figures are expected to release next spring.

Jakks Pacific Renews Licensing Agreement with Disney Consumer Products in China

jakksJakks Pacific Inc. renewed its mult-year licensing agreement with Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media in China for merchandising rights for more than 50 properties.

 

The agreement includes Disney princess and Disney Frozen for the large doll category, plus new entertainment properties including Disney’s Moana and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. The deal also covers dress-up, role-play, costumes, and masks and accessories, as well as properties for Disney Tsum Tsum collectibles, action figures, ride-ons, and wagons.

JAKKS Pacific, WBCP Partner for DC Super Hero Girls Global Licensing Program

Jakks_DCSuperHeroGirlsJAKKS Pacific Inc. partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP), on behalf of DC Entertainment, for a multi-year, global licensing deal to manufacture, market, and distribute large action pose dolls, dress-up, and Get Ready for Action items based on the DC Super Hero Girls universe.

DC Super Hero Girls follows female Super Heroes and Super-Villains of the DC universe during their high school years, before they discover their full super power potential. Each character has their own storyline that explores what teen life is like as a Super Hero, including discovering unique abilities, nurturing powers, and mastering the fundamentals of being a hero.

The DC Super Hero Girls line will be available at retailers this fall.

Entertainment One Set to Launch PJ Masks Merchandise in France

PJ MasksEntertainment One (eOne) announced its plans for the launch of PJ Masks merchandise in France. The licensor appointed France TV Distribution to manage the consumer products program for PJ Masks in the region. eOne and FTD collaborated on the merchandise launch in France which will debut at mass market and toy specialists this January, as well as additional categories including footwear that will rollout next fall.
