Independent French animation studio Procidis appointed new licensees in France and internationally for its animated series Once Upon a Time…Life, which is part of the classic Hello Maestro umbrella brand.
With the launch of the revamped TV series on France 4 in March, the first new products to rollout include a comic book and documentary books. Additional licensees that will launch products in France this year include, SONY for DVDs, Hachette for an encyclopedia, La Poste for an official stamp, and Alcara for charms. Educa Borras will also develop a first range of Hello Maestro products for France and Belgium including board game, puzzles, and mini games.
The brand will also build international consumer products on a recent broadcast sales. For home video deals Studio Hamburg is the licensee in Germany, SF in Scandinavia, TDM in Netherlands, and Unidisc for Canada.
Hippocampus in Poland will launch puzzles, mini and preschool games, DVDs, and an encyclopedia that builds on the success of the board game. Mano in Hungary and DeAgostini in Italy have been appointed for publishing and partworks in their repective regions. A comic book is already available in the Netherlands via Editions Soleil.
In September, Once Upon a Time…Life will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a live show in Paris following year-round new digital initiatives and a dedicated 360-degree marketing plan. It will be built on brand awareness with parents and grandparents to bring the characters and stories to a new generation.
The series follows a wise man with a distinctive flowing beard who tells the story of humanity, the lives and exploits of renowned explorers or inventors, and the history of the human body to bring knowledge and fun to young viewers.
