Power Rangers Flash Mob

The Licensing Book is back from Las Vegas and starting to get back into the daily grind. While most of what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, we will share these photos with you from the Power Rangers flash mob, from June 14, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

This reunion celebrated the news that beginning June 15, more than 700 episodes from the Power Rangers television series would be made available via Netflix’s instant streaming service. Every classic episode from the 17-year run of the successful kids action series will now be available for fans to view any time, from the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to the futuristic Power Rangers RPM.

Below: Power Rangers creator Haim Saban and Saban Brands President Elie Dekel pose with the Samurai Power Rangers along with previous generations of the iconic Power Ranger teams at Licensing Show.

The latest generation of the legendary Power Rangers is a proven hit with Power Rangers Samurai becoming the No. 1 kids action series, ranking No. 1 in its timeslot across all of TV with boys 2-11, boys 6-11, and kids 2-11. The series premiered on Nickelodeon in February and since its launch has maintained its No. 1 rank, outperforming its competition by double and triple digits.

Following its strong debut in the U.S., Power Rangers Samurai has been licensed for television broadcast in territories around the world including Brazil’s Grupo Banderiantes de Comunicação, Mexico’s leading terrestrial broadcaster, Grupo Televisa, France’s Canal J and Gulli, and Canada’s YTV and Teletoon. In addition, through a multiterritory agreement with Nickelodeon, the series will be seen in key European markets including Germany, the Benelux, the UK and Ireland; throughout Latin America; and in Australia and New Zealand.

Additionally, fans will have the chance to experience the never-before-seen story of how the newest generation of Power Rangers came together in an all-new Power Rangers Samurai Origins special, which will air on Nickelodeon. The special takes viewers inside the dojo where the new Rangers received their martial arts training prior to their first adventures battling evil as a team.

Hot off the success of their first season on air, the cast members of Power Rangers Samurai will make their first appearance at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International 2011, taking place July 21-24. All five of the celebrated Rangers—plus the newest addition to the cast, the Gold Ranger—will take part in a question and answer session, which will be moderated by fan-favorite actor Paul Schrier, who has portrayed the character Farkas “Bulk” Bulkmeier since the very first Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series debuted in 1993.

To further celebrate the successful debut of Power Rangers Samurai, Saban Brands, LLC, the company behind the new series, will launch Power Con, an exclusive contest that allows fans to power up their Comic-Con 2011 experience with a video contest running in advance of the convention to give attendees the chance to win VIP treatment at this year’s event. Fans who visit the Power Rangers Samurai Facebook page can get all the details about how to upload their homemade videos to the Power Rangers Samurai YouTube channel between June 1 and June 28. The top videos will be selected and posted to the Samurai Facebook page, and visitors can vote for their favorite video until July 8. Six winners, one for each Ranger, will be announced on July 11. The VIP prize package will include front row seating at the Power Rangers Panel, special VIP meet and greet with cast, and an exclusive one of a kind T-shirt signed by the cast.

The Samurai Power Rangers will also return to the 85th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade lineup this year escorting the giant world balloon. Both can be seen on the NBC-TV national broadcast airing on Thursday, November 24, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., in all time zones.
