Tickety Toc Announces Three New U.S. Partners

Three new licensees have signed on to the Tickety Toc brand to create new products this fall. has signed for branded products including plates, napkins, cups, invitations, thank you notes, table covers, placemats, centerpieces, and sticker sheets. Bakery Crafts has signed for branded cake and cupcake decorations, including cupcake rings and picks, and edible images for cakes, cupcakes, cookies, candles, and candle holders. Lastly, InCharacter Costumes has signed for branded costumes for toddlers and preschoolers. The deals were brokered by Established Brands on behalf of Zodiak Kids.

DHX Media Acquires Ragdoll Worldwide

DHX Media has acquired Ragdoll Worldwide from BBC Worldwide and a group including the founder of Ragdoll, Anne Wood for GBP 17.4 million. DHX Media expects the transaction to be accretive to net earnings per share for fiscal 2014. 

Under the agreement, DHX Media obtains 12 series, including UK series The Adventures of Abney & Teal, Dipdap and Brum, in addition to 365 episodes of Teletubbies, 52 episodes of Teletubbies Everywhere and 100 episodes of In the Night Garden.  Lauded for entertaining and educating generations of children around the globe, Ragdoll Worldwide’s flagship properties, Teletubbies and In the Night Garden, have achieved commercial success since inception through strong broadcast and licensing programs.  Teletubbies has aired in over 120 countries and its enduring resonance with children is further underscored by the fact that its top five postings on YouTube have garnered a cumulative 286,000,000 views.

Ragdoll Worldwide was established as a joint venture in 2006 between BBC Worldwide, BBC’s commercial arm, and Anne Wood’s production company, Ragdoll Ltd.

Big Tent Entertainment Announces Deals with Leg Avenue and Buckle-Down

Big Tent Entertainment LLC has signed new licensing deals with Leg Avenue and Buckle-Down for the Domo brand. Leg Avenue, a manufacturer or costumes, hosiery, lingerie, and accessories, has signed for branded costumes for adults, young adults, and kids, as well as leggings, arm warmers, and costumed hoods. Buckle Down has signed for Domo-branded belts and accessories.

Shell Rummel Signs Licensing Deals with Bacova and Ivy Hill Home

DollhouseShell Rummel, a fine artist known for her watercolor artwork, has signed deals with Bacova and Ivy Hill Home. Bacova’s Noubeau Chic and Beautifully Illuminated bath collections, both compromised of Rummel’s watercolor and ink designs, will debut at New York Home Textiles Market in September, where it will be on display in their showroom at 295 Fifth Avenue. Ivy Hill Home will launch coordinating bedding lines for each collection, with products including quilts and decorative pillows. The partnership was brokered by Shell Rummer’s licensing agency, Jewel Branding & Licensing.

Nambé Appoints Perpetual as Licensing Agency of Record

Nambé has selected Perpetual Licensing to be its licensing agent. Perpetual will partner with Nambé to build a strategic brand licensing program that extends the brand into new and expanded product categories, including jewelry and watches, lighting, office products, kitchen and bath accessories, and home décor items.
A line of Nambé jewelry will represent the first new brand extension and will offer a medium for consumers to experience pieces in materials, styles, and retailers that match the brand’s identity.

WBCP Partners with Habitat for Humanity for There’s No Place Like Home Charitable Campaign

Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP), Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Entertainment Corporate Responsibility have partnered with Habitat for Humanity to launch There’s No Place Like Home, a campaign celebrating the 75th Anniversary of The Wizard of Oz. The program starts off with a digital fundraising campaign and will feature several themed initiatives and events supporting Habitat for Humanity’s work to create affordable housing in partnership with low-income families.   

Warner Bros. and Habitat for Humanity will offer a dedicated website and corresponding Facebook app where consumers can support the There’s No Place Like Home campaign throughout the year. It will also feature local Habitat for Humanity build events around the country, starting with a marquee event in the greater Los Angeles area’s city of Long Beach.
Additional WBCP licensing partners supporting the national There’s No Place Like Home campaign include Hallmark, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group, Workman Publishing, Westland Giftware, Café Press, Trendsetters, Harper Design, Tonner Doll, Thomas Kinkade, and Jersey Jack Pinball. More partners and activities for the campaign will be announced in the coming months, as well as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Wizard of Oz musical. Venues in select markets will facilitate donations each time a patron checks into the local theater on Facebook. 

Mind Candy Launches New Global Affiliate Program with Linkshare for Moshi Monsters Brand

Mind Candy has launched its first global affiliate program that will allow partners and distributors to earn revenue by promoting and directing consumers to Moshi Monsters. Mind Candy’s new program will also offer affiliate partners a 15 percent starting commission rate for each paid subscription conversion. Mind Candy is pursuing partnerships with many affiliates, including flash gaming portals, mommy bloggers, loyalty shopping, and download sites for cross-promotion opportunities.
Upon joining the program, the affiliate will receive a referral commission directly from LinkShare for new players they introduce to the service who later move on to become a paid subscriber. The affiliate program is global with a focus on affiliates in the U.S.
The site has expanded into a physical products line, including toys, a kids’ magazine in the UK, Nintendo DS video games, a music album, books, membership cards, trading cards, and an upcoming theatrical film.

Pac-Man Deals in MENA Region

41 Entertainment (41e) has granted TV rights to MBC3 and MBC3HD in the MENA region for the Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures property as well as MBC3 USA in Arabic. The TV series includes seasons one and two and is slated to begin broadcast early next year. MBC3 is the first Free To Air children’s entertainment channel in the MENA Region.
Furthermore, 41e has appointed MBC Licensing & Merchandising as its agent in the region to handle licensing and merchandising activities. Toy Triangle has already signed on to distribute toy product on the property.

Guru Studio Appoints Ian Lambur as New Director of Sales

DollhouseGuru Studio has appointed Ian Lambur to the new role of director of sales. Lambur will manage worldwide sales of the company’s programs, which includes the preschool show Justin Time. Additionally, he will help expand Guru’s family-focused distribution catalog and secure presales for projects in development. Lambur arrives with a solid reputation in kids’ entertainment, previously in international distribution at Spanish kidsco Vodka Capital, as well as five years of sales with Kidscreen magazine.
Guru’s development slate now has five new original properties, which the company will be presenting at MIPCOM and other upcoming markets. The studio is also currently producing various third-party series, such as Spin Master’s flagship preschool 3-D CGI-animated series for Nickelodeon, Paw Patrol; 2D series Ever After High, from the makers of Monster High; and the original Dinopaws.

kaboom! Signs Spooky Deals

kaboom! Entertainment, the kids and family label of Phase 4 Films, has signed a raft of deals for this Halloween, including a number of new acquisitions. The feature-length animation from Porchlight Entertainment, Daddy, I’m a Zombie, joins two Nelvana series—Tales from the Cryptkeeper and Ruby Gloom—for Halloween DVD retail launch.
Berry Meyerowitz, president and CEO of Phase 4 Films says: “We are delighted to be presenting three North American DVD property premiers this Halloween. kaboom! continues to provide high quality, fresh children’s entertainment content to this key audience.”

Saban Announces Julius Jr. Premiere

DollhouseSaban Brands and Nick Jr. have announced that Julius Jr., the new animated preschool series inspired by the Paul Frank family of characters, will debut September 29 on Nick Jr. in the U.S. Following the adventures of a young version of Julius the monkey, Julius Jr. will mark the first TV series for the Paul Frank franchise.
“Julius the monkey is an internationally recognized and beloved character, thanks to the success of the Paul Frank brand around the world,” said Elie Dekel, president of Saban Brands. “Julius Jr. and his friends will not only captivate preschoolers, but also inspire kids to use their imagination and creativity in everyday life.”


DreamWorks Acquires Chapman Entertainment Library

DreamWorks Animation has acquired the library of Chapman Entertainment. With Chapman, DreamWorks Animation adds to its growing library Fifi and the Flowertots, Roary the Racing Car, Raa Raa the Noisy Lion, and Little Charley Bear.
The Chapman U.K.-produced titles add to the family entertainment brands that the company gained through its acquisition of Classic Media last August. The Chapman programs will be distributed through DreamWorks Animation’s UK-based TV distribution operation.
“We’re pleased to bring such original and imaginative programming into the DreamWorks Animation fold,” says Eric Ellenbogen, co-head of DreamWorks Animation International TV and DreamWorks Classics. “The Chapman acquisition reaffirms our commitment to U.K.-based productions of distinction and we look forward to delivering brand new TV adventures from these popular series.”

Ben and Holly Heading Back to Italy and Australia

DollhouseeOne has announced that Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom is set to return to RAI Italy and ABC Australia. Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom debuted on Italy’s RAI Yoyo last year, and the show airs daily on ABC in Australia.
Head of International Sales at Entertainment One Family Monica Candiani says, “Series One of Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom received great ratings in Italy and Australia and these returning broadcast deals from RAI and ABC demonstrate that the show has found its way into the hearts of preschool audiences there.”

JK Rowling to Pen Spin-Off Film

Warner Bros. has announced that JK Rowling is to make her screenwriting debut in a new Harry Potter-themed film series. The first film of the series will be titled Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Warner Bros said the film series was part of an “expanded creative partnership” with the best-selling author. The new film will feature Newt Scamander, the fictional author of the textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, owned by Harry Potter at Hogwarts school.
Rowling commented: “Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for 17 years, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world.
“The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt's story will start in New York, 70 years before Harry's gets underway.”
Warner Bros also announced that it would serve as the worldwide TV distributor (excluding the UK) for the upcoming BBC TV adaptation of Rowling’s recent adult novel The Casual Vacancy. It is expected to air next year.

Tickety Toc in Roster of Deals

As Tickety Toc sees the launch of toys, books, and DVDs this month, additional licensees have signed on to create Tickety Toc products. has signed for party goods, Bakery Crafts for cake decorations, and InCharacter Costumes for Halloween costumes.

 “Tickety Toc momentum continues to build as we launch products into the marketplace and we are excited to sign on these new partners to extend the product offering for consumers. The products they will deliver are perfect for our age demo,” says Bob Traub, president of licensing, Established Brands. The deals were brokered by Established Brands on behalf of Zodiak Kids.

Minika Acquires Everything’s Rosie in Turkey

Turkish children’s network Minika has acquired seasons one and two of Everything’s Rosie, produced and distributed by UK-based V&S Entertainment. Rosie and friends are set to appear on Turkish TV screens when the series is broadcast on the free-to-air children’s TV channel, Minika Cocuk.
The agreement grants rights for free TV via cable, satellite, and terrestrial, including catch up: pay TV, simulcast rights via IPTV, mobile TV, web TV, and Internet. Everything’s Rosie will be available in Turkish and English for the territory. In addition, a local language microsite will complement the series alongside a range of Rosie-themed games, wallpapers, and screensavers.
Co-produced with JCC, Everything’s Rosie will be broadcast on the preschool-focused channel Minika Cocuk everyday for the first year of this significant four-year agreement.

Imira Sells Larva Seasons to Global Markets

DollhouseImira Entertainment has sold seasons one and two of Larva, its recent acquisition from South Korean Tuba Entertainment, into several key markets. Imira Entertainment holds distribution rights to Larva for Europe and Latin America.
Cartoon Network Latin America has taken both seasons, while in France Canal+ will broadcast season two. Scandinavian audiences will see season two via a deal with Toon TV, and Noga has taken all current episodes to Israel.

Atlantyca Entertainment, Introduce Geronimo Stilton Perfume

Atlantyca Entertainment and beauty products manufacturer have partnered for Geronimo Stilton: Kingdom of Fantasy special scented perfume, to coincide with this month’s release of the newest Kingdom of Fantasy book, Grande Ritorno nel Regno della Fantasia. The perfume is the first in a series of a line of children’s beauty products to be released for the brand. The line will also include shower foams, shower gels, and travel sets. The perfume will be in stores throughout Italy by mid-September, following the book release.
The product launch follows the February announcement of the company’s initial partnership to produce a line of children’s personal care products such as shower gel, shampoos, body cream, hair gel, and soaps with dispensers for the Geronimo Stilton brand.

Lawless Entertainment Appoints New Licensing Agent for Suzy’s Zoo

Lawless Entertainment and Suzy’s Zoo have appointed Metrostar to represent Suzy’s Zoo throughout the UK and Eire.  
Metrostar will represent Suzy’s Zoo for publishing, licensing, and merchandising in the UK. Their strategy is to concentrate first on Little Suzy’s Zoo. They will target retailers and licensees of nursery products, apparel, books, toys, toiletries, and gifts.

Paddington Film Cast Announced

DollhouseStudiocanal has unveiled several of the cast members of the upcoming Paddington Bear movie. Stars including Nicole Kidman, Julie Walters, Hugh Bonneville, and Jim Broadbent have confirmed, following in the footsteps of Colin Firth, who will take the lead role. Hugh Bonneville, of Downton Abbey fame, is cast as Mr brown, with Nicole Kidman as a villain, and Jim Broadbent will take on the role of an antique store owner.

David Heyman, producer, commented: “It's a great honour to be able to bring Michael Bond’s beloved character to the big screen. “I am hugely excited to be working with Paul King, whose imagination, flair, and sense of wit and wonder, make him the ideal director. And I am thrilled that we now have such an exceptional cast to bring the story of Paddington Bear to life.”

Oliver Courson, Studiocanal chairman and CEO, said: “We’re very happy to announce all of this good news at the same time. We’ve been developing the film with David Heyman for a while. Starting the shoot with such a great cast is a dream come true. And we are thrilled to have Harvey and Bob Weinstein joining us in the adventure.”

The film is set for release in North America by The Weinstein Company Dimension in early 2015.

Zodiak Kids Appoints Agents for Totally Spies

Matt HatterZodiak Kids has appointed three new licensing agents in Scandinavia, Korea, and South America for Totally Spies!, produced by Marathon Media (a Zodiak Kids company). The appointments follow the global launch of the new season six.
Limo Licensing will manage the rights in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Iceland, where the whole franchise, including the latest Season six, was acquired by Nickelodeon. Earlier Seasons aired in the territory on Fox Kids and local channels TV4, MTV3, and TV 2.
Across the globe, TL Corp took rights for the Republic of Korea, where the series has had exposure across several platforms. IMC Licensing will manage rights in the South American territories of Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Bolivia.

Gaumont and DQ to Debut Lanfeust Quest at MIP

Gaumont Animation and DQ Entertainment are coming to Cannes with the first episodes of Lanfeust Quest, an adaptation of the comic and manga franchise Lanfeust Of Troy, with 10 million copies sold worldwide.
French broadcaster M6 commissioned the 26 half-hour, CGI-animated comedy. The channel asked one of its star presenters, Alex Goude, to perform Lanfeust’s French voice.
Remi Jimenez, head of youth programming, M6: “We are very pleased to broadcast Lanfeust Quest in our Wednesday morning slot. The series, which is very well balanced between action/adventure on the one hand, and comedy on the other hand, is the big event of our fall schedule.”

Megalicense Appointed for MGA, Apoints Gatti to Team

MGA Entertainment has appointed Russian licensing agency Megalicense to represent the MGA portfolio in Russia and CIS countries from September.
“MGA has an impressive portfolio of brands, including classics such as Bratz through to the phenomenon Lalaloopsy," says Zakhar Nazarenko, managing director at Megalicense.

“MGA is very excited to have Megalicense representing our brands for licensing in this important market and working alongside the excellent SAKS company as toy distributors, feel confident our doll brands shall grow from strength to strength in the coming years," says Tina-Louise Foster, senior director of international licensing, MGA Entertainment.

The former Director of Rio Licensing and Rainbow, Friderico Gatti has been appointed as CEO of Megalicense International. He commented on his new role: "I look forward to developing the licensing business in Russia with my new partners Zakhar Nazarenko and Anton Grishin. I strongly believe that our partnership is answering exactly the expectations the Licensors have for developing successfully their brands and their business in Russia.”


Knockout Licensing Announces the First Australian Licensees for Boo, The World's Cutest Dog

DollhouseKnockout Licensing has confirmed the first four Australian licensing partners for Boo, The World’s Cutest Dog. Caprice Australia will manufacture and market Boo-branded bedding, bags and luggage, footwear, headwear, underwear, swimwear, sleepwear, and outerwear. Jasnor will distribute Boo premium Plush from Gund. Outliving has been granted the license to make and sell Boo giftware and houseware items, and Target Australia will create its own line of girls’ outerwear to be sold exclusively at Target stores and online in Australia.
In addition, several new Boo book titles will be available, including Boo- Life of the World’s Cutest Dog, Boo- Little Dog in the Big City, Boo’s ABC, and Boo Paperdoll Set, from Hardie Grant Books.

Muhammad Ali Enterprises LLC has signed new licensing deals for the Muhammad Ali brand. Brown Trout has signed for branded calendars; TextPride has signed for branded images and logos to be inserted into social messages via Facebook, Twitter, and email; Uncommon has signed for branded mobile device accessories, including Apple device cases (iPad, iPhone, iPod, Macbook, etc.) and Samsung Galaxy cases.
