ITVS GE Adds New Classic Thunderbirds Partners Ahead of 50th Anniversary

As ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) gears up for the 50th anniversary of the TV series, Thunderbirds, in September, the licensor unveiled details of new partnerships to bolster the brand’s classic licensing program. ITVS GE is working with its partners to launch new lines of limited-edition products targeting collectors and fans of the original series.

In the UK and Eire markets, ITVS GE has signed 3D Online Factory for 3-D printable figurines and crafts, Winning Moves for a Thunderbirds Monopoly set, and Hornby for a die-cast vehicle collection. ITVS GE has signed Forbidden Planet for a direct-to-retail line of adult apparel, gifts, and accessories; and Tinamps for a portable speaker in a tin. Planet Replica will be unveiling TV show prop replicas worldwide.

In the publishing category, Octopus Publishing Group will launch three gifting books, while Panini will produce a 50th Anniversary classic Thunderbirds magazine for the UK and Eire.

Dreamtex will build homewares, Smiffys is on board for adult dress-up costumes, and Misirili has signed for adult socks. In Australia, a promotional deal with Leo Burnett Sydney will see the use of the Thunderbirds theme tune on TV, radio, and online for Woolworths.

These new partners join recently announced fashion collaborators such as Lou Dalton for high-end knitwear, Turnbull and Asser for luxury men’s silk handkerchiefs and neckties, and Fashion Lab for adult T-shirts, loungewear, and swimwear for the UK market.
