Condé Nast Celebrates Vogue Anniversary With New Fragrance

CONdeNastCondé Nast partnered with Comme des Garçons for a limited-edition fragrance in celebration of Vogue’s 125th anniversary.

Vogue 125 is brand’s first fragrance and was inspired by its rich history, featuring top notes of an accord of instant film, a mainstay in fashion shoots, and acetyl furan, a synthetic essence that mimics the smell of tobacco, an aroma that used to permeate the Vogue offices and the couture salons where editors reviewed collections. Middle notes include Lily of the Valley, a favorite of the magazine’s founding publisher, Condé Nast, and fresh ink, which scented his first printing press in Greenwich, Connecticut. The base notes consist of Cashmeran wood, Haitian vetiver, and leather, reminiscent of the gloves fashion director Babs Simpson insisted her team wear at the Vogue office in the ’60s.

The fragrance was developed by Comme des Garçons Parfums creative director Christian Astuguevieille with Vogue Beauty Director Celia Ellenberg. The lacquered red bottle was designed by Vogue Art Director Aurelie Pellisier-Roman.

The product is available at Dover Street Market New York, Comme des Garçons Chelsea, Comme des Garçons Pocket Shop, and the Dover Street Market New York e-shop, shop.vogue.com, and high-end perfumeries and department stores.
