Marvel Unveils Heroes Come In All Sizes Retail Campaign

Marvel LogoDisney Consumer Products and Interactive Media (DCPI) will debut the new retail campaign Marvel Heroes Come in All Sizes this spring. The campaign celebrates Marvel Super Heroes and everyday heroes to teach that the best way to measure a Super Hero is by the size of their heart.

New Marvel products will highlight this theme and be available in categories including, home entertainment, television, publishing, and digital content. Marvel’s Doctor Strange will be available for Blu-Ray and DVD release this month. Marvel Publishing will also launch the new Monsters Unleashed! comic series, and Disney Publishing will release The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl: Squirrel Meets World, a picture book featuring Baby Groot. Spiffy Pictures Names TOMY Master Toy Licensee for Nature Cat

NatureCatSpiffy Pictures signed a licensing agreement with TOMY International for the PBS KIDS series Nature Cat. TOMY International is the master toy licensee for categories including plush, figures, play sets, and role play for mass and specialty retail channels.

The TOMY line will debut with plush at the end of next year, and will join soft goods licensee Komar to bring Nature Cat products to the U.S. The agreements follow the announcement of the second and third season of the series, which will include 35 half-hour episodes and two hour-long specials. New episodes will premiere next fall.

Spin Master Debuts Masha and The Bear Toy Line

SpinMaster LogoSpin Master Corp. launched new licensed toys based off of the animated series Masha and the Bear. The line will be available exclusively at Toys “R” Us in the U.S. and Canada. Masha and the Bear streams on Netflix in the U.S. and airs on Teletoon in Canada. Spin Master’s Masha and the Bear includes plush toys, soft dolls, and a play set.

 

Genius Brands International Launches SpacePOP Apparel Line at Select Kohl’s Stores

spacepopapparelfromjayaGenius Brands International Inc. (GBI) will launch the first apparel program for SpacePOP at select Kohl’s stores nationwide and online this month.

GBI will debut a collection of SpacePOP sportswear from Jaya Apparel for tween girls at Kohl’s including tops, bottoms, skirts, and dresses. The new line will be promoted in a digital marketing campaign, which features YouTube influencers Sophia Grace and Angelic.

Auldey Toys Enchants with New Line of Regal Academy Fashion Dolls

Regal AcademyAuldey Toys of North America will be the master toy licensee for Regal Academy, an animated television series created by Rainbow and currently airing on Nickelodeon.

Designed for kids ages five and older, the full line of fashion dolls will launch next year and will include TV and marketing support. The Regal Academy toy line will be unveiled at this month’s Fall Toy Preview in Dallas.

Mattel Partners with Papercutz for Barbie Graphic Novels

Global toy leader Mattel partnered graphic novel publisher Papercutz to create comics based on the company’s Barbie character.

Papercutz will create a range of graphic novels that complement the many ways that kids interact with Barbie and reflect the diversity that Mattel has brought to the franchise.

The first three titles slated for launch as graphic novels are an eponymous Barbie series and individual volumes based on the Barbie Starlight and Barbie Puppy Adventure DVD films. Barbie and Barbie: Puppy Party will launch in September 2016, with Barbie Starlight following in October. All three series will be available in both paperback and hardcover.

Plans call for more series to debut early next year, with new installments and new series appearing each season. Barbie Vol. 1 and Barbie: Puppy Party Vol. 1 will be on sale at comicbook stores, online retailers, and bookstores on September 13.
