Jakks Pacific Inc. renewed its mult-year licensing agreement with Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media in China for merchandising rights for more than 50 properties.
The agreement includes Disney princess and Disney Frozen for the large doll category, plus new entertainment properties including Disney’s Moana and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. The deal also covers dress-up, role-play, costumes, and masks and accessories, as well as properties for Disney Tsum Tsum collectibles, action figures, ride-ons, and wagons.
DHX Brands Built Games, a video game developer and publisher, as part of nine new Teletubbies consumer products deals brokered via CPLG North America.
This spring, Built Games will launch Teletubbies Play Time, an interactive mobile app for kids that will help promote early learning, while engaging users and developing their senses and motor skills. The National Wildlife Federation signed new licensing partnerships to expand its Ranger Rick brand across digital, print, and kid-focused products. Disney Channel ordered a third season of Elena of Avalor, an animated series that follows a brave and adventurous teenager who rules her kingdom. The series premiered last summer in the U.S. and targets kids ages 2 to 11. Elena of Avalor holds the number one spot in its timeslot in the U.S., the UK, Spain, and Portugal. TCG will renew its contract for Peppa Pig games, and Ty Inc. will renew its contract for plush Beanie Babies. Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana adds new consumer products partners in France for its animated series Super Wings. In addition, a new weekday timeslot was secured for the preschool series on the Gullidoo children’s programming block on France’s Gulli last month. Super Wings also airs on Piwi+.
Nelvana signed 15 new consumer products agreements for Super Wings, including: master toy licensee Auldey; AD global for toys and accessories; ATM for back-to-school; Bon Bon for confectionery; Canal Toys for arts and crafts; Chauss Europ for footwear; Clementoni for puzzles and games; D’Arpeje for wheeled toys; Dekora for cake decorations; Famosa for ride-ons; Biochi Preziosi for balls and educational and electronic games; Hemma for publishing; Pik and Roll for bicycles; Play By Play for plush; and Sun City for apparel.
