The Jim Henson Co., Alchemy II Partner for New Teddy Ruxpin Series

TeddyRuxpin_LogoAlchemy II Inc., owner of the Teddy Ruxpin brand, partnered with The Jim Henson Co. to develop an animated fantasy adventure series featuring Teddy Ruxpin.

The new series will feature toys from master toy partner Wicked Cool Toys, winner of the recent TOTY award for the 2017 Teddy Ruxpin relaunch. Show show will feature Russell Hicks as producer, who was also the original head illustrator for Alchemy II during Teddy Ruxpin’s initial launch. Wicked Cool Toys Named Master Toy Licensee for Kung Fu Pork Choppers

KungFuPorkChoppersCraneKahn appointed Wicked Cool Toys as master toy licensee for the animated series Kung Fu Pork Choppers. CraneKahn adapted hundreds of episodes of GG Bond, one of the top kid’s franchises in China, for a western audience, packaged under Kung Fu Pork Choppers brand name. The U.S. broadcaster for Kung Fu Pork Choppers will be announced later this year.

The Kung Fu Pork Choppers are a team of pigs-turned-superheroes who protect New Pork City from alien invasion. The series follows Hampton, Hamgelina, Glorious P.I.G., and the rest of the gang, as they take on any challenge.

Oddbods Toys to Launch at Target in the U.S.

OddbodsA toy line based on the Oddbods series will launch at Target stores in the U.S.

Following the recent announcements of TV broadcast, video-on-demand (VOD), and subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) partnerships nationwide, the toy line from Kids Station Toys Inc. will mark Oddbods’ first consumer products program in the U.S. Target will feature chain-wide listings of the new range this fall. Guru Studios Launches Licensing Program for True and the Rainbow Kingdom

TrueAndTheRainbowKingdomGuru Studio will debut a merchandising program for its new preschool series True and the Rainbow Kingdom, which airs on Netflix in the U.S. and CBC in Canada.

In addition to the previously announced master toy agreement with Toy State, the new licensing agreements include Palamon for costumes; American Marketing Enterprises for sleepwear; GBG Socks for hosiery; Chouette as master publishing partner; and Bendon Inc. for coloring books and art sets. Xtreme Play will create figures based on Ubisoft’s video game franchises, including Assassin’s CreedTom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, and Beyond Good and Evil 2. The first products from Xtreme Play will be available at U.S. retailers this fall.

 

Nelvana Expands Partners for Soft’n Slo Squishies

soft n squishiesCorus Entertainment’s Nelvana will work with licensees for the Soft’n Slo Squishies brand’s consumer products program. Nelvana Enterprises is the global licensing representative for the collectibles line from ORB, which has sold millions of units globally.

The new Soft’n Slo Squishies products launching this fall include Hybrid Apparel for girls’ apparel, Komar Kids for sleepwear, and JCorp for girls’ apparel in Canada. Additionally, Jellifish Kids will produce licensed sleepwear, underwear, and swimwear in Canada, as well as for mid-tier and specialty lines in the U.S. Nelvana will round out the program with home décor, accessories, publishing, social expressions, and novelty products.

 

Goliath Acquires Tucker

Goliath_TuckerGoliath acquired Tucker, maker of outdoor toys. Going forward, Tucker will operate as a center of ideation and R&D within Goliath.

Established in 2001, Tucker was successful in the sports toy category. Its Phlat Ball line is available in close to 60 countries and sold more than 23 million units.

Synchronicity.Jay@Play_FlipAZooSynchronicity, the licensing agent for Jay@Play’s FlipaZoo toy brand, will introduce new licensees and international agents for the brand at Licensing Expo in Las Vegas next week.

FlipaZoo licensees include Basic Fun! and Goodstuff for amusement park plush; Taste Beauty; Global One Accessories for bags, accessories, and headwear; Ethical Products for pet products; Jay Franco for bedding and home décor; and Mad Dog Concepts for pajamas and slippers. Additionally, HuntAR will launch a FlipaZoo augmented reality (AR) app that lets kids scan branded product hangtags and packaging to bring the characters to life on their mobile devices. The new line features licensees including American Classics for men’s and women’s T-shirts and loungewear; Aquarius for calendars, playing cards, puzzles, games, buttons, magnets, and tin boxes; boldSOCKS for socks; Funko forPop! figures and plush; Isaac Morris Ltd. for sweaters and outerwear; ODM for T-shirts and sweatshirts; Philcos for apparel available exclusively in Canada; Surreal Entertainment for beverageware, fleece throws, pins, lanyards, and desk accessories; Trau and Loevner for fashion tops, fleece, and T-shirts; Unemployed Philosophers Guild for mugs, mints, bar soap, enamel pins, and sticky notes; and Wizhead for paper craft models.
