Rubie’s Costume Co. Introduces Marvel Ant-Man Costume Collection

Rubies.AntManCostumeRubie’s Costume Co. Inc. has partnered with Marvel to produce officially licensed costumes, masks, and accessories for Ant-Man.

The Ant-Man collection includes Ant-Man and Yellow Jacket costumes available in child and adult sizes.

“We are thrilled to partner with Marvel on the new Ant-Man Costume Collection,” says Howard Beige, Rubie’s executive vice president. “By expanding Marvels superhero repertoire, fans of all ages can enjoy these characters for both Halloween and dress up.”

The Ant-Man costume collection will be available this Halloween season.

 

Teletubbies Heads to Italy with Rai

June4.TeletubbiesDHX Media has licensed its new and classic Teletubbies series to Italian broadcaster Rai.

Rai’s preschool-skewing channel, Rai YoYo, will air 60 12-minute episodes from the new series, which is currently in production and set to debut on CBeebies in the UK later this year. Rai YoYo will also have the rights to seasons one through 14 of the classic Teletubbies show.

With rewarding rituals, sound play, and physical comedy, new generation Teletubbies will build upon many familiar and beloved features of the original series, while offering some exciting and surprising developments too. The original episodes have aired in more than 120 territories in 45 different languages.

FrementleMedia Previews Danger Mouse at Comic-Con

JeopardyMouseFremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment’s (FMKFE) reboot of the 80s animation Danger Mouse debuted at Comic-Con International: San Diego last week, with a panel which discussed the series’ return and revealed exclusive casting news. The new series is set to air on CBBC in the UK later this year, and will roll out in the U.S. and internationally on Netflix next year.

The panel revealed that actress Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, Dredd) and talk show host John Oliver (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver) are set to join the voice cast for Danger Mouse, with Headey to voice U.S. Secret Agent Jeopardy Mouse, and Oliver to voice the mad scientist wolf Dr Augustus P Crumhorn III.

It was also revealed exclusively that villainous vampire duck and original Danger Mouse spin off character Count Duckula will appear in the new series, testing Danger Mouse’s resolve with his traditionally dark and dangerous ways.

Toy State Partners with WBCP for DC Super Friends

DCSuperFriendsToy State has gained the rights to produce a line of DC Super Friends products through a global licensing deal with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP).

“It’s with great excitement that we announce our new global partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products,” says Andy Friess, Toy State president. “DC Comics is a legendary brand and has been redefining the Super Hero genre for decades. We look forward to adding Toy State product design and innovation to DC Super Friends at retail.”

Toy State’s product line will include R/C vehicles that feature popular DC Comics characters, and will incorporate the company’s best-in-class quality, as well as its innovative ‘lights and sound’ features. Distributed under the Nikko brand, products will hit retail shelves next year.

Super Wings Merchandise Flies into North America

superwingsCorus Entertainment’s Nelvana Enterprises has signed a deal with CJ E&M, Asia’s No. 1 entertainment and media company, to represent the North American merchandise licensing rights for the preschool series, Super Wings. Nelvana will represent Super Wings in all merchandise categories with the exception of toys, which will be distributed by Auldey Toys North America in the U.S., and Imports Dragon in Canada.

Super Wings, co-produced by FunnyFlux Entertainment has aired in more than 40 countries worldwide. In the U.S., Super Wings currently airs on Sprout, and the series will launch on Canada’s preschool network, Treehouse this fall.

Super Wings follows the adventures of Jett, a jet plane who travels around the world delivering packages to kids with his group of airplane friends, the Super Wings. The Super Wings have the ability to transform into heroes who can run, climb, dig, and swim.

Toy State Partners with Sébastien Loeb Racing

ToyStateLogoToy State and Sébastien Loeb Racing (SLR) have entered into a worldwide partnership, a deal that includes both race sponsorships and product licensing components. The four-year global licensing agreement grants Toy State exclusive rights to develop ranges of toys in the R/C and lights and sound categories.

Marketed under the Nikko R/C and Road Rippers brands, each vehicle will feature models and liveries driven in competition by Sébastien Loeb, a nine-time World Rally Championship (WRC) world champion.

Doctor Who Travels Across Time and Space in Lego Dimensions

Interactive Entertainment has revealed that Doctor Who’s Peter Capaldi, who plays the 12th Doctor, Jenna Coleman, who plays Clara Oswald, and Michelle Gomez, who plays Missy, will voice their respective characters from the TV series in Lego Dimensions. The announcement was made at Comic-Con International: San Diego.

In a new trailer giving the first look at the Doctor Who gameplay, worlds collide as the TARDIS pop up in Gotham City and Hill Valley and the Doctor battles alongside Homer Simpson.

Doctor Who, which has never before been in a Lego videogame, will be playable in the Lego Dimensions Starter Pack with a complete Doctor Who level where the game’s heroes continue their quest while encountering Daleks, Cybermen, and other adversaries from the Whoniverse.

The Art of the Brick: DC Comics to Debut at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney

Unknown-1Lego Artist Nathan Sawaya in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) and DC Comics has created the world’s largest collection of DC Comics-inspired Lego artwork, The Art of the Brick: DC Comics. The exhibition will be on display at the Sydney, Australia’s Powerhouse Museum, part of the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS), in November—the first venue to host the exhibition’s worldwide tour. The announcement was made by WBCP at Comic-Con International: San Diego.

The contemporary art exhibition takes on the DC Comics’ 80-year history with large-scale sculptures of super heroes and super-villains made entirely out of Lego bricks. Fans at San Diego Comic-Con were given a behind-the-scenes glimpse at several sculptures to be showcased at Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum, including interpretations of Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman during the DC Comics Meets Lego Art panel.

Elie Dekel Steps Down from Saban Brands

He will remain involved as a senior advisor for the company. Joel Andryc, managing director of Saban Capital Group, has been appointed interim president overseeing Saban Brands.

“Andryc will work closely with CFO Bill Kehoe and the executive team to lead strategy and continue to build on the company’s world-class portfolio of entertainment and lifestyle properties,” said Saban Brands in a statement. “We wish Elie much success in the future.”
