Disguise Launches Minecraft Costume Line

Disguise_MinecraftDisguise Inc.—the Halloween costume division of JAKKS Pacific Inc.— launched the first Minecraft costumes and accessories collection. The line is available now at retailers nationwide. The costumes and accessories are based on characters from Minecraft, the sandbox video game where players mine and craft 3-D blocks in a world of varied biomes and terrain.

The costumes feature characters such as Steve, Alex, and Creeper. Full sets of diamond Minecraft Armor are also available. The pants and tunic are inspired by the game’s 3-D blocky aesthetic, with range of motion designed for trick-or-treating. The long-sleeve tunic features detailed character artwork on the front and print coverage on the back. The half-masks include a mesh eye-plate and a foam insert designed for comfort and range of vision.

Accessories are also available, including the Minecraft Sword and Minecraft Pickaxe. The line is available in child sizes 4 to 6, 7 to 8, and 10 to 12 at retailers nationwide.

TulipopIcelandic character-based lifestyle brand Tulipop secured licensees across key categories in the U.S. Secured by Tulipop’s North American licensing agent the Sage Licensing Group alongside Playlife Co., the products are expected to launch exclusively with a major U.S. retailer this holiday season.

Encyclopaedia Britannica Expands Licensing Program with Britannica Virtual Reality Exploration!

Britannica_VRExplorationEncyclopaedia Britannica launches the latest book set, Britannica Virtual Reality Exploration!. The six-book set was developed in partnership with Encyclopaedia Britannica’s official licensed partner Publications International, and is sold exclusively at Costco.

The set features vetted information from Encyclopaedia Britannica and a virtual reality experience. The hardcover books have full-color illustrations and photographs, graphics, text, and videos. It also included is a six month free subscription to Encyclopaedia Britannica Online.

The Jim Henson Co. Signs New Distribution Deals for Splash and Bubbles

SplashandBubblesThe Jim Henson Co. signed multiple new distribution deals for its CGI-animated adventure series Splash and Bubbles, which is co-produced with Herschend Studios and currently airing in the U.S. on PBS KIDS.

MBC GROUP secured basic cable and satellite rights to Splash and Bubbles in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, as well as worldwide Arabic language rights; Netflix acquired global streaming rights; Fox Latin American Channel LLP secured rights for Nat Geo Kids; and POD Worldwide acquired free TV rights for Thailand. Canadian public broadcasters TVO (Ontario) and Knowledge Network (British Columbia) acquired the broadcast rights to the series earlier this year.
