Toy State Partners for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vehicles

Toy State has secured a licensing partnership with Nickelodeon to design, develop, and manufacture lines of toy vehicles featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles entertainment brand. The three-year deal will allow Toy State to create Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed lights and sound, preschool, and radio-controlled vehicles. Product will be available in mid-2016 at major retailers.

Toy State recently added Barbie and NASCAR to its licensing portfolio, joining the company’s flagship Road Rippers and Nikko brands, as well as lines featuring leading licensed properties including Hot Wheels, Caterpillar, WWE, Thomas & Friends, and DC Super Friends in its brand lineup.

Marvel Launches Daredevil, The Punisher, Jessica Jones, and Deadpool Merchandise for Adult Fans

Marvel began rolling out its merchandising and retail plans for popular anti-heroes and vigilantes Daredevil, The Punisher, Jessica Jones, and Deadpool.

Additional launches targeting teens and adults are planned for January, including apparel, collectibles, and action figures. Diamond Select, Funko, Sideshow, Kotobukiya, and NECA will launch collectibles, Hasbro will add Marvel Legends collector figures, and Hot Wheels will unveil collectible die-cast vehicles next fall.

Mad Engine, C-Life, Hybrid, Freeze, Fifth Sun, Silver Buffalo, and Bioworld will launch men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, footwear, bags, home goods, and drinkware. The merchandising programs will be rounded with collector plush, stationery, consumer electronics, novelties, and Marvel Comics editions that feature backstories of the superheroes.

Additionally, Hot Topic will launch an in-store and online Deadpool campaign in February. Walmart, JCPenney, Spencer’s, Party City, and Kohl’s will provide in-store and online support. Amazon will expand on its toy and apparel offerings and CafePress will launch Jessica Jones-inspired merchandise for men and women.

American Girl Partners with Williams-Sonoma

AmericanGirlAmerican Girl will partner with Williams-Sonoma, premier specialty U.S. retailer of cookware and home furnishings, for American Girl-branded baking sets, utensils, food mixes, and a cookbook. The line will be available this fall at Williams-Sonoma, American Girl stores, and online.

In addition, a series of culinary classes will start this month at Williams-Sonoma stores, and will continue through the end of the year.

Williams-Sonoma has also created a limited-edition American Girl spatula—which will be carried at both companies’ stores beginning in late June—as part of its No Kid Hungry fundraising campaign. The spatula will be available for $12.95 with 30 percent of the proceeds benefiting No Kid Hungry: a campaign that is dedicated to ending childhood hunger in the U.S.

Spin Master Appointed to Distribute Teletubbies Toys

June4.TeletubbiesDHX Brands, the brand management and consumer products arm of DHX Media, has appointed Spin Master to distribute the upcoming range of Teletubbies toys in the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, and Benelux. The deal, which sees Spin Master distributing the plush, plastics, and bath toys from Teletubbies master toy licensee Character Options, was negotiated on behalf of DHX Brands by CPLG. The Teletubbies toy range is set to debut next year, following the launch of the show on UK commissioning channel CBeebies.

The new 60-episode series of Teletubbies has been commissioned by the UK’s CBeebies and is being produced for DHX Media by UK production company, Darrall Macqueen Ltd. It will feature the same characters but with a refreshed, contemporary look.

Disney Consumer Products Launches Inside Out Product Line

Mercis B.V., UNIQLO Team Up for Apparel Featuring Miffy


Mercis B.V. and UNIQLO have teamed up for an apparel line featuring Miffy, the classic children’s character based on Dutch artist Dick Bruna’s story books. The spring and summer kids’ range will help mark Miffy’s 60th anniversary this year.

The launch of the Miffy X UNIQLO range will roll out across UNIQLO stores in 15 countries, including Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong and Macau, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the UK, and the U.S.

The range combines Dick Bruna’s illustrative style of minimal black lines contrasting with bright primary colors with UNIQLO’s contemporary approach to clothing design. Miffy’s silhouette is featured throughout. The collection includes girls’ T-shirts and shorts, as well as baby T-shirts, crew neck bodysuits, and pajamas.

Hoho Entertainment, the kids’ production and rights management company behind Cloudbabies, has partnered with TotallyTween for Mimi & Bibi, an original 26-episode, two-minute animated series for kids ages 8 to 10. Mimi and Bibi are twin sisters who are complete opposites: Mimi is sweet, good, and on a mission to perfect the world; Bibi is a rebel without a cause.
