Pyramid International and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment, has launched the UK’s first stationery range for DC Super Hero Girls, the new universe that features DC female Super Heroes, including Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Batgirl to inspire girls to be everyday Super Heroes.
Pyramid’s range of licensed DC Super Hero Girls stationery features colorful notebooks in a variety of sizes. There are also three stationery sets, bigger stationery gift items, plus a range of pens, highlighters, pencil cases, and a collapsible storage box. The range is now available to buy in the UK at Toys “R” Us, WH Smith, Amazon, HMV, and The Range, with additional retailers that will be added this year.
Moose Toys partnered with KIDdesigns’ eKids brand for a Shopkins electronics line, which will be available this year. The collection includes volume-limiting headphones, karaoke machines, walkie-talkies, sing-along microphones, and a purse-shaped boom box. The agreement, brokered by The Licensing Shop Inc., covers North America, the UK, Benelux, the Nordics, Iberia, Italy, Germany, France, and Eastern Europe.
The Brand Liaison will represent the lifestyle and DIY YouTube star Lauren Riihimaki for licensing and brand extensions. Licensed products will include DIY and crafting projects related to fashion, jewelry, school supplies, accessories, and more.
Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media (DCPI) kicked off its third annual ‘Marvel Super Hero Spectacular’ campaign on August 15. The campaign will feature six weeks of product launches, retail promotions, and activities, including a merchandising program celebrating Captain America’s 75th anniversary and the launch of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War on DVD and Blu-ray. Major retailers at the event will include Walmart, Target, Toys “R” Us, Amazon, Kohl’s, Party City, and Kmart. The event will roll out worldwide and also reach mid-tier retail and specialty stores.

Scholastic and American Girl entered a multi-year licensing agreement to launch an extensive publishing program based on the American Girl brand.
Under the agreement, Scholastic will publish print and digital books, and distribute simultaneously in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. This is the first time American Girl has licensed rights to publish books based on its characters.
The books will spawn kids ages 5 to 12 and include publishing for the Girl of the Year line, including each character’s novels, and new formats for current and previously-released Girl of the Year characters.
American Girl and Scholastic will also release a non-fiction chapter book series inspired by the BeForever line, a new original series in middle grade, chapter book, and reader categories, novelty formats such as treasury books and guided journals, and American Girl-branded yearbooks featuring activities and quizzes.
Genius Brands International Inc. (GBI) enters multiple partnerships for music-driven tween brand SpacePOP with Six Flags, Dippin’ Dots, and Camplified amongst others.
The partnership with Six Flags will feature SpacePOP programming across Six Flags Media Networks reaching family guests this summer at participating theme parks locations. The original content includes music videos for guests waiting in ride lines as well as music on the Six Flags radio network played throughout the parks.
GBI’s partnership with Dippin’ Dots will include a sweepstakes with a grand prize, e-commerce gifts, and SpacePOP branded merchandise giveaways at all locations. Five bestselling Dippin’ Dots flavors will be named after the princesses in SpacePOP.
Camplified will create an interactive, multifaceted SpacePOP experience, geared to tween girls, at 50 camp locations across the U.S.
Two new SpacePOP videos will be released each week on YouTube, as well as across Toon Googles, PopJam, Batterypop, and the Kid Genius channel on Comcast’s Xfinity on Demand platform. Music will also be available on iTunes and Spotify.

Sesame Workshop unveiled its first Afghan Muppet Zari, a 6-year-old inquisitive girl ready to make her debut in the fifth season of Baghch-e-Simsim, the co-production of Sesame Street in Afghanistan.
Zari will feature in new, locally produced segments that focus on curriculum topics such as girls’ empowerment, national identity, physical health, and social and emotional wellbeing. Season five of Baghch-e-Simsim (Sesame Garden) can be seen on Tolo TV on Thursday and Friday at 4:00 p.m., and Lemar TV on Thursday and Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Zari, which translates as “shimmering,” will feature in three formats: speaking directly to viewers, interacting with kids in person, and interviewing different Afghan professionals.
Segments from other Sesame co-productions, adapted and dubbed into Dari and Pashto, will continue to introduce children to Muppet friends from the series in Egypt, Bangladesh, Mexico, and Russia.
Playmates Toys will introduce a new collection of products inspired by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, set to release in theaters on June 3.
The collection includes action figures, vehicles, play sets, role-play gear, and additions to existing T-Machines, T-Sprints, and mini-figure collections.
The action figures line is highly detailed, fully poseable, and sculpted to match the appearance of the Turtles, allies, and villains in the film; and includes basic figures, 6-inch battle sounds figures, and 11-inch figures.

American Greetings expands to offer Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars themed cards for birthdays, thank you, congrats, weddings, baby, anniversaries, and thinking of you occasions. These cards will include characters like Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Marvel’s Avengers, and Darth Vader.
American Greetings also launches a new line of Big Talkers birthday cards featuring Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars characters in a die-cut format with multiple authentic audio clips.
