JAKKS Pacific Inc. partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP), on behalf of DC Entertainment, for a multi-year, global licensing deal to manufacture, market, and distribute large action pose dolls, dress-up, and Get Ready for Action items based on the DC Super Hero Girls universe.
DC Super Hero Girls follows female Super Heroes and Super-Villains of the DC universe during their high school years, before they discover their full super power potential. Each character has their own storyline that explores what teen life is like as a Super Hero, including discovering unique abilities, nurturing powers, and mastering the fundamentals of being a hero.
The DC Super Hero Girls line will be available at retailers this fall.

JAKKS Pacific Inc., Lafig Belgium S.A., and Sony Pictures Consumer Products partnered for the global launch of Smurfs toys inspired by the animated film Smurfs: The Lost Village, from Sony Pictures Animation.

Disney Channel ordered a third season of Elena of Avalor, an animated series that follows a brave and adventurous teenager who rules her kingdom. The series premiered last summer in the U.S. and targets kids ages 2 to 11. Elena of Avalor holds the number one spot in its timeslot in the U.S., the UK, Spain, and Portugal. TCG will renew its contract for Peppa Pig games, and Ty Inc. will renew its contract for plush Beanie Babies. Beginning this spring, Make It Real will manufacture and distribute a line of fashion design and watercolor sketchbooks made for kids ages 6 to 12. Each product comes with a full design style guide, dozens of sketch pages, stickers, stencils, instructions, and inspirations. The line will feature Mickey and Minnie, as well as characters from Disney Frozen, Elena of Avalor, and the Descendants.

Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Enterprises, the sales, brand-management and consumer products division of Nelvana, has extended the reach of its fast-growing Shopkins licensing program to fans in Russia, the Middle East, and Scandinavia through a range of new partnerships.
Nelvana will introduce Shopkins merchandise to Russian consumers via Megalicense International, a recent sub-agent for the brand in Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Ukraine, and the Baltic nations of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. New licensees for Russia include AST Origami for board games and arts and crafts; AST Publishing for magazines; Perfetti for chocolate balls; Tarna Rosman for plush, party goods, art and crafts, and stationery; and Unitoys for card games.
