GameCo Inc. creator of the first video game gambling machine (VGM) entered into a license agreement with CBS Consumer Products to develop a new skill-based VGM based on the Star Trek franchise.
Set to debut in the fall, Star Trek Deep Space Nine Adventure will allow players to take lead of the U.S.S. Defiant and battle their way to victory through immersive ship-to-ship combat. Compulsion Games Inc. retained Striker Entertainment to act as the worldwide licensing agency on behalf of the video game, We Happy Few. The game tells the tale of a bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial. DHX Media signed a deal with Cartoon Network U.S. for Mega Man, an original DHX Media co-production with Dentsu Entertainment USA Inc. The series was also picked up by DHX Media’s Family CHRGD for Canada. Based on the Capcom Mega Man video game franchise, the 3-D animated series goes into production this summer at DHX Media’s Vancouver studio. Turner’s Cartoon Network will expand the imaginative worlds of its series Steven Universe with a new console game set to release this year. Save the Light joins the new original series and console/PC game OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes. The new titles will engage fans with storylines, interactive play, and additional surprises only available within the console gameplay.
Cartoon Network will showcase Save the Light and OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes through PAX East. Save the Light is a RPG console game and sequel to the 2015 mobile title Attack the Light. Under license from MGM Interactive, GameCo Inc. will develop games for its video game gambling machines (VGM) based on the TV series Vikings and the Western film Hang ‘Em High.
GameCo’s VGM is an arcade-style video game cabinet that features a single-player game adapted from top console, PC, and mobile developers. The VGM made history when it became the first skill game in the world to hit casino floors. The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. (TTWO) partnered to launch NBA 2K eLeague, a competitive gaming league. This marks the first official eSports league operated by a professional sports league in the U.S.
The league will debut next year and will consist of teams operated by actual NBA franchises. The founding teams, each composed of five professional eSports players who will play the game as user-created avatars, will be announced in upcoming months. The NBA 2K eLeague will follow a professional sports league format: competing head-to-head throughout a regular season, participating in a bracketed playoff system, and concluding with a championship matchup.
Tetris partnered with Puyo Puyo from SEGA to create a fast-paced, competitive party game. The game offers tons of gameplay styles with Tetris/Puyo variety. Plus, an in-game Shop enables players to unlock new characters and skins for Puyos and Tetriminos. Jazwares introduced six fully articulated 3-inch figures and three multi-figure accessory packs to its Minecraft line, expanding its toy collection based on the digital world.
The action figures include Charged Creeper Pack, Zombie Pigman Pack, Alex with Diamond Armor Pack, Snow Golem Pack, Steve with Minecard Pack, and the Witch Pack. The new multi-figure and accessory packs will include Alex with Skeleton Horse Pack, Alex Survival Pack, and, for the first time, kids can add their favorite animals from the game with the Wild Animal Pack.
Launched in 2009, Minecraft is a sandbox video game where users can build and go on adventures in a 3-D block world. Minecraft has sold more than 106 million copies to date.
GameCo Inc. will developing three new casino games for its video game gambling machines (VGM) based on the science fiction film, Terminator 2: Judgment Day (T2), under license from Studiocanal S.A.S.
The first game is planned as a first-person action game where players will take the role of a reprogrammed T-800 with a mission to aid the human resistance by exterminating opposing Terminators.
