GameCo, Inc. to Develop Video Game Gambling Machines Featuring Steve Aoki

GameCoGameCo Inc. entered a license agreement with Steve Aoki to develop an original new video game gambling machine (VGM) game titled Steve Aoki’s Neon Dream.

Scheduled to debut in casinos this summer, the game is inspired by Aoki’s 2014 “Neon Future” album. The first-person game will blend the controls of an infinite runner with the experience of Aoki’s music. The Tetris Co., Bioworld Europe Partner for Apparel and Accessories Range

Outright Games Announces New Cartoon Network Licenses

OutrightGamesVideo game publisher Outright Games will add new games for console and PC based on Cartoon Network’s series Adventure Time and Ben 10 .

Outright Games’ new titles will take characters from Cartoon Network’s original series to create new experiences for fans. Adventure Time will feature the Land of Ooo submerged into watery chaos, where exploration, battle, and even interrogation will be key skills to unplugging the mystery. Ben 10 will introduce a fresh adventure in the incredible universe where some of Ben’s most infamous enemies await. Players must discover and unlock 10 alien transformations to aid Ben in saving the galaxy.

Ben 10 will release in quarter 4 of 2017, with Adventure Time planned for release early next year.

LeSportsac, Nintendo Partner for a New Super Mario Travel Collection

LeSport_NintendoLeSportsac and Nintendo partnered to introduce a collection of totes, backpacks, and accessories inspired by Super Mario. The new line will launch during this holiday season.

The collaboration features two designs—Power-Up Burst and Mario Travel—created exclusively for the LeSportsac x Nintendo collection. Power-Up Burst is inspired by the classic game’s power-up items, including Fire Flowers, Super Mushrooms, 1-Up Mushrooms, Super Stars, coins, Goombas, and Koopas. NPD Study Shows Toys and Technology Drive Licensed Sales for Kids in the U.S.

NPD_Stats According to the U.S. Kids License Report from The NPD Group, video games, electronics, and apps make up a combined 22 percent of kids’ licensed product dollar sales in the U.S.

This is on par with the volume represented by toys, which is the number one licensed industry at most retailers.

Toys capture the largest share of licensed sales among younger kids, representing over one-quarter of dollar sales for kids ages 2 to 5. This percentage shifts as video games, electronics, and apps gain more prominence as kids get older. Video games earn 27 percent of sales among boys ages 10 to 14, and share also increases substantially among girls as they get older. Toys and video games capture the largest share for eight out of the top 10 licenses, illustrating the weight carried by each of these industries. Read the rest of this entry »

Technicolor Animation Productions, SIE, PGS Partner to Create Sly Cooper TV Series

SlyCooperTechnicolor Animation Productions and Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) partnered to create a computer-generated animated TV series based on the PlayStation videogame series Sly Cooper. Global distribution—along with licensing and merchandising rights—will be managed by PGS.

Sly Cooper follows the adventures of an irresistibly charismatic raccoon, a modern-day Robin Hood, who restores justice to his city one theft at a time. Sly is aided by his two best friends, a muscular hippo named Murray and a brainy turtle named Bentley. Hot on Sly’s trail is Inspector Carmelita Fox, a morally upright cop with an unfortunate crush on the charming bandit, as well as a band of villains.

Bungie, Activision Share Destiny 2 Early Ship Date, Global Launch Date

Destiny2Bungie and Activision Publishing Inc.’s Destiny 2 will have an early launch date for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One—PlayStationPlus or Xbox Live Gold subscription, respectively, required for significant features, and beta access—on September 6. The PC version launch date will be on October 24 and is now available to pre-order via Blizzard Entertainment’s online gaming service, battle.net.

The game’s latest trailer debuted during the Sony Press Conference at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this week. The Destiny 2 console beta early access period for PlayStation 4 players who pre-ordered the game will begin July 18, while early access for Xbox One players who pre-ordered will begin on July 19. Following the pre-order early access period, the Destiny 2 console beta will open up to all PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players on July 21 and will conclude on July 23. Activision Debuts Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Trailer at E3

Activision debuted the remastered Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy during the Sony press conference pre-show at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Players can now play new levels in HD. New additions to the franchise have also been announced.

For the first time Crash’s smart and spirited little sister, Coco, will be playable throughout the Crash Bandicoot™ N. Sane TrilogyE3 attendees can test out the new game when they visit the N. Sane Crash Experience in the lobby of the South Hall.

In Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Coco has decided to hack into the Time Twister to travel back in time to help Crash in his previous adventures. Now as a fully playable character across all three games, fans can switch between playing as Crash or Coco. Both characters have an N. Sane set of special attacks, each with their own style.

Developed by Vicarious Visions, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy offers new lighting, animations, textures, models, and recreated cinematics. Full analog stick support and a unified save system and checkpoint system make it easier for players to enjoy the classic adventures.

Activision and Vicarious Visions will also debut a fully-remastered game soundtrack, as well as newly-recorded dialogue from some of the familiar voice actors who appear in the original Crash Bandicoot games, including Jess Harnell, Lex Lang, and Debi Derryberry.
