GameCo Inc. creator of the first video game gambling machine (VGM) entered into a license agreement with CBS Consumer Products to develop a new skill-based VGM based on the Star Trek franchise.
Set to debut in the fall, Star Trek Deep Space Nine Adventure will allow players to take lead of the U.S.S. Defiant and battle their way to victory through immersive ship-to-ship combat. Compulsion Games Inc. retained Striker Entertainment to act as the worldwide licensing agency on behalf of the video game, We Happy Few. The game tells the tale of a bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial. DHX Media signed a deal with Cartoon Network U.S. for Mega Man, an original DHX Media co-production with Dentsu Entertainment USA Inc. The series was also picked up by DHX Media’s Family CHRGD for Canada. Based on the Capcom Mega Man video game franchise, the 3-D animated series goes into production this summer at DHX Media’s Vancouver studio. Hasbro‘s DropMix debutted at MashBash during South by Southwest (SXSW) last weekend. The new music-mixing game uses technology that allows players to create mixes of songs by playing cards on a game board connected to a mobile app. Watch the trailer for DropMix here.

Turner’s Cartoon Network will expand the imaginative worlds of its series Steven Universe with a new console game set to release this year. Save the Light joins the new original series and console/PC game OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes. The new titles will engage fans with storylines, interactive play, and additional surprises only available within the console gameplay.
Cartoon Network will showcase Save the Light and OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes through PAX East. Save the Light is a RPG console game and sequel to the 2015 mobile title Attack the Light. Maurizio Distefano Licensing (MD Licensing) signed a new licensing agreement on behalf of Angry Birds brand owner Rovio. Granarolo will partner with the Angry Birds brand to bring special editions of its 100 percent natural Yomino yogurt lines to retail.
Yomino Angry Birds products will be available from Q1 this year in Italian supermarkets, hypermarkets, and traditional channels. When customers buy an Angry Birds Yomino product, they will receive points that can be collected and redeemed for one prize, including a play tent, a trolley, and a complete set of luggage available in different colors.
Yomino is the Granarolos Yomo line of products for kids. It includes squeezable yogurt available in a number of flavors and produced in Italy with only Italian milk, and no dyes, preservatives, flavorings, or thickeners.

GameCo’s VGM is an arcade-style video game cabinet that features a single-player game adapted from top console, PC, and mobile developers. The VGM made history when it became the first skill game in the world to hit casino floors. The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. (TTWO) partnered to launch NBA 2K eLeague, a competitive gaming league. This marks the first official eSports league operated by a professional sports league in the U.S.
The league will debut next year and will consist of teams operated by actual NBA franchises. The founding teams, each composed of five professional eSports players who will play the game as user-created avatars, will be announced in upcoming months. The NBA 2K eLeague will follow a professional sports league format: competing head-to-head throughout a regular season, participating in a bracketed playoff system, and concluding with a championship matchup.
Entertainment One (eOne) expanded the consumer products program for the global preschool series Peppa Pig, which airs on Nick Jr. in the U.S. and Treehouse TV in Canada. TCG will renew its contract for Peppa Pig games, and Ty Inc. will renew its contract for plush Beanie Babies.
